Hidden Gems: Meet Emily Rosen of Embody Health and Fitness

Today we’d like to introduce you to Emily Rosen.

Hi Emily, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
As a child I struggled with being overweight and was often teased for it which left me feeling deeply insecure. Those feelings eventually contributed to an eating disorder in high school and I became severely malnourished. Over time I was able to recover and that experience sparked a deep appreciation for health and well being. I immersed myself in learning everything I could about wellness and eventually went on to study Exercise and Wellness at Brigham Young University. During that time I met my husband Sam and we got married. After our second child was born I felt a strong pull to create something of my own but I wasnt sure what direction to take. One day the idea came to grow my social media with a focus on health. As I leaned into that I began coaching others creating personalized meal and workout plans and the business quickly took off. Things grew rapidly and I hired a few full time employees and Sam started working with me too! Today we run the business together and we have worked with thousands of clients who come from all different health and fitness backgrounds!

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
No, it definitely hasn’t always been a smooth road. This year came with some big learning curves for us. We brought in partners because we truly believed it would help us grow and expand the business. At the time it felt like the right move, but it ultimately didn’t work out the way any of us hoped. The partnership ended and it brought Sam and me back to running everything on our own again. It was a hard situation, but it taught us a lot about alignment, trust, and protecting the vision of what we’re building.

We also tried working with social media specialists to help us scale that side of the business, and that didn’t go well either. Instead of making things easier, it created more stress and showed us how important it is to keep our messaging and our mission personal and authentic.

And then there’s the challenge that every parent who runs a business understands: trying to figure out the balance between being fully present for our kids while growing something that demands so much time and energy. Being good parents is our number one priority, so navigating that balance hasn’t always been easy. There have been moments where it felt like we were being pulled in two directions at once, and creating boundaries became essential.

2025 has honestly been a year filled with hard lessons. But it has also been a year of real growth. Every setback pushed us to refine who we are, what we want this business to represent, and how we want to show up for our family and our community. We’re better because of the challenges, even if we didn’t see it that way in the moment.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Embody Health and Fitness?
Embody Health and Fitness firmly believes that every person deserves a plan that actually fits their life. We specialize in creating 100% customized workout plans and meal plans that are built from the ground up around an individuals goals, schedule, experience, and other aspects of their life. Nothing we do is cookie-cutter. Every meal is tailored to what someone actually likes to eat, and as the plan goes on, we continually update and swap meals so their nutrition never feels repetitive, overwhelming, or restrictive. That level of customization is one of the biggest things that sets us apart in an industry full of one-size-fits-all templates. Most companies will give you your macros and have you figure out your meals, but we want to help our clients know what foods will help them feel energized, strong, and ultimately feel their best!

Beyond nutrition, we’re focused on helping people build a sustainable lifestyle they can maintain long after they’re done working with us. Our goal isn’t short-term change; it’s lifelong habits. We help clients understand how to fuel their bodies, how to balance real life with real goals, and how to create routines that work even when life gets busy.

What we’re most proud of, brand-wise, is that Embody Health and Fitness represents more than fitness plans, it represents empowerment. It’s a place where people feel supported, educated, and confident. We want readers to know that when they work with us, they aren’t just getting a meal plan or a workout program. They’re getting a personalized, guided experience that teaches them skills they’ll use forever. Our offerings are designed to help people feel strong, capable, and in control of their health in a way that genuinely fits their life.

What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
The biggest lesson we’ve learned is just how important our health truly is. When you strip everything else away, business, goals, responsibilities, all the noise of everyday life, it always comes back to how we feel in our own bodies. Taking care of your health doesn’t have to be complicated. In fact, it’s the simple, consistent habits that change everything: eating well, moving your body, staying hydrated, getting enough sleep, and managing stress in healthy ways.

When we prioritize those basics, we feel better, we show up better, and we’re able to do all the things we want to do in life, with more energy, confidence, and clarity. Our journey has taught us that health isn’t just one part of life; it’s the foundation that supports everything else. And when people realize that, it becomes so much easier to make choices that support long-term well-being.
