Daily Inspiration: Meet Sanna Pedersen

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sanna Pedersen.

Hi Sanna, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I started as an apprentice in an elite nail salon in Salt Lake City. In less than a year, I became a licensed nail technician and a licensed instructor, took on apprentices of my own, and stepped into the role of Salon Director—so I learned early how to move fast, work smart, and keep standards sky-high.

When 2020 hit and everything started shutting down, people weren’t exactly excited about traveling—so I thought, what if I bring the salon to them? I called Utah DOPL, and they told me no one had done what I was planning, but if I could make it work while following every sanitation and regulation requirement, I should go for it. And so I did! Sanna Styles was born as I built a full mobile system, met with the Health Department, and they were impressed (they even said I’d thought of a few things they hadn’t!). Launching at the height of a pandemic felt like it could be either genius or a disaster, and thankfully, it turned into one of the best ideas I’ve ever had. I’ve stayed busy ever since—traveling to homes, hotels, hospitals, care facilities, campsites, and everywhere in between—and it’s even led to surreal moments like meeting the absolutely wonderful Reba McEntire!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It was incredibly scary venturing into a business and becoming an entrepreneur especially since there wasn’t already a business model I could replicate. I had to figure it out on my own but despite the fear of the unknown and the stress of having to juggle so many responsibilities at the same time while figuring out something new it’s been fun and rewarding. It feels like I’ve pioneered the way for hopefully more mobile nail techs in the future. Even after almost 6 years of success and wonderful opportunities that many don’t get a chance to have I still struggle with Imposter Syndrome regularly. But I just remind myself of all the little wins along the way and keep moving forward.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Sanna Styles is the only luxury mobile nail experience in Utah—I bring a clean, calm, high-end appointment to you, wherever you are. I specialize in beautiful, long-lasting nails with a polished, elevated look (the kind that makes you stare at your hands all day), and I’m especially known for being detail-oriented, efficient, and always staying on top with sanitation.

But honestly, what I love most isn’t just the nails—it’s the connection. I’m in people’s homes, hotels, hospitals, care facilities, and real life moments… and I get to make them feel pampered, heard, and genuinely taken care of. I want every appointment to feel like a reset: you relax, you’re treated with kindness, and you leave feeling prettier and lighter. I walk away knowing it was more than beautiful nails—I lifted someone’s spirits, and that’s my favorite part.

What I’m most proud of is building something totally different from the ground up: creating a fully compliant mobile system, launching in 2020 when everything felt uncertain, and staying consistently booked because clients trust me. What sets me apart is that rare combo of luxury + convenience + safety + heart. It’s “bestie energy” with “elite standards” and I enjoy it all!

What makes you happy?
What makes me happiest is helping people feel taken care of—like they can exhale for a minute—and leaving them with a lifted spirit and beautiful nails as a reminder is a bonus.
