Daily Inspiration: Meet Sarah Swank

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sarah Swank.

Sarah Swank

Sarah, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I was Born and Raised In Utah in a Hispanic Household of 7. When I was a senior in high school, I started a Tattoo Apprenticeship. Working a Full Time job alongside school and my apprenticeship. 2019

Tattooing has brought me more than I could have possibly imagined. As someone who’s been very passionate , creative and driven.. Being a Full time artist has been truly a dream.
As much as it’s easier to look at how rewarding my journey has now been .. I also can’t forget and let go of the hardships that have come my way during the process.
Truly, Grateful

Now, 2026.
I’m currently in the process of Moving out of State to Massachusetts this Spring.
I stayed in Utah to build my career and now that my time is up, Im beyond excited to continue to grow in a new environment surrounded by family and friends. I will continue to Travel Back and Forth to Utah and surrounding East Coast States. So this isn’t a good bye!!

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Definitely not easy but overall worth it. Instead of speaking on the struggles … I will say a couple Lessons Learned were;

Life’s too short

Don’t hold onto what’s not meant for you

At the end of the day you only have yourself, so put the work into yourself! You can still create and build a community, but put you first !
You can’t help anyone if you don’t first help yourself.

If they wanted to , they would

It’s all about who you surround yourself with!
I find that maintaining a small circle of people who truly care about you and root for you .. is whether you’ll be successful or not.
Such as… Being around Artists who constantly complain, don’t put the work in, are very critical etc will only hold you from truly becoming the artist you’re meant to be!
Hidden Talent is cool but is it when you need to pay your bills? Or when you want to enter a gallery ?
If someone with less experience can make more money, gain more attraction, stay busy etc.. can do it.. why not you?
I personally find that everyone is an Artist. Art is very subjective. So, who are you, to think that you’re the best or that there’s only one way to be an artist.
Life is all about being expressive and living life to the fullest. Which is why I strive to keep those close to me who are like minded, open and always seeking more! It’s honestly not that serious. and again… life is too damn short!!

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Outside of Tattooing.. I work with many art mediums. I consider myself a Multi Medium Artist. I love Pencil, Charcoal, Pen / Ink, Oils, Clay and so forth.

My absolute favorite Medium would be painting with Oils. I have been doing so since 2019.
I’ve painted with other mediums earlier on but really full sent oil much later as I first found it quite frustrating.

My favorite Oil painter that made me want to Oil Paint is ; @jimena_agra
You can find her on Youtube! She inspired me because of her Artistic vibe and Hispanic background.

I now have had my art up in a couple Galleries through Salt Lake City.
I have had the pleasure of frequently painting commissions for clients.

I currently sell prints of my paintings on my website! If you’re interested.. please use my code SWANKY10 for 10% off!

I sometimes will have Original Paintings Available !

What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
I covered this briefly in a previous question but will add that my main lesson learned is…

LIFE IS TOO SHORT…
