Today we’d like to introduce you to Mayra.
Hi Mayra , it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I started Redstone Construction with the goal of creating steady, meaningful work for my husband and my brother, and building something we could grow together as a family. What began as taking on small projects and figuring things out day by day quickly turned into a shared vision built on trust, hard work, and supporting one another.
In the early stages, we all wore multiple hats. While they focused on the field and craftsmanship, I handled client communication, scheduling, and the business side of operations. Working together pushed us to learn fast, adapt constantly, and hold ourselves to high standards—because our name and reputation were on everything we did.
As we grew, so did our structure and our services. Today, Redstone is a multi-service construction company known for quality workmanship, reliability, and attention to detail. I now focus heavily on leadership, systems, and long-term growth, while continuing to work closely with my team to ensure our values stay at the center of the business.
Looking back, it’s been a journey built on teamwork, persistence, and family. What we’ve accomplished together makes me incredibly proud, and it’s exciting to see how far we’ve come—and where we’re headed next.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. Like many small businesses, especially family-run ones, we faced growing pains early on. Balancing cash flow, learning how to price correctly, and figuring out systems while actively working in the business was challenging.
There were moments where we were learning things the hard way—mistakes with scheduling, taking on too much at once, or underestimating the time and resources a project would require. On top of that, working with family adds another layer of responsibility, because success or failure doesn’t just affect you—it affects the people you care about most.
What helped us push through was communication, adaptability, and a willingness to learn. Each challenge forced us to get more organized, more intentional, and more disciplined in how we run the business. Those struggles shaped the foundation we have today and taught us how to grow sustainably instead of quickly.
Looking back, those difficult moments were necessary. They strengthened our systems, our teamwork, and our confidence—and ultimately made Redstone the company it is today.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Redstone Construction is a family-driven, multi-service construction company built on quality, reliability, and trust. We specialize in framing, finish carpentry, windows, doors, cabinetry, custom installations, and post-construction services, working with homeowners, builders, and partners who value craftsmanship and consistency.
What sets us apart is our attention to detail and the way we operate. We don’t just focus on getting a job done—we focus on doing it right. From clear communication and organized project flow to clean job sites and dependable timelines, we take pride in being a company people can rely on. Because we’re hands-on and closely involved in every project, our standards stay high from start to finish.
Brand-wise, I’m most proud of the reputation we’ve built. Redstone stands for professionalism, integrity, and accountability. Clients know that when they work with us, they’re getting a team that cares—not just about the outcome, but about the experience along the way.
What I want readers to know is that Redstone is more than a construction company. It’s a business built on family, teamwork, and long-term vision. Every service we offer and every relationship we build reflects our commitment to quality work and to growing in a way that benefits our clients, our team, and our community.
Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
What makes me happiest is seeing the people around me grow—my family, my team, and the business we’ve built together. Knowing that something I started is providing stability, opportunity, and pride for my husband, my brother, and everyone involved is incredibly fulfilling.
I also find a lot of happiness in progress. Whether it’s watching a project come together, improving systems behind the scenes, or looking back and realizing how far we’ve come, those moments remind me why the hard work is worth it.
At the core of it all, I’m happiest when there’s balance—doing meaningful work, being present with my family, and building something that has purpose beyond just the work itself. That sense of purpose is what keeps me motivated and grateful every day.
