Today we’d like to introduce you to Ryan Heaton.
Hi Ryan, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
What if emergency services couldn’t find your house at night?
That question stuck with me as a teenager when I was painting curb numbers for neighbors.
I wanted to make the curb numbers better, more visible and safer.
I thought, what if they reflected at night like stop signs? Seeing how road reflectors and stop signs shine at night gave me the idea to use the same reflective material, print numbers, and adhere them to curbs for high visibility.
From the very first trial installations, the feedback was amazing. Homeowners, delivery drivers, and especially emergency services kept telling us how much our numbers help!
Now, my wife and I personally install the numbers for free across Utah — you just pay for the product.
We manufacture our reflective curb number tiles ourselves at our home in West Haven using durable, stop-sign-grade reflective material. Thousands of our customers have told us these numbers help ambulances and first responders find homes faster, especially at night.
According to the Red Cross, delays in CPR can significantly lower someone’s chance of survival, so every number we install feels like a small way of helping, maybe even saving a life. In a world where every second counts, every address matters. That’s why I created Address Only!
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The road hasn’t been easy. My wife went through a breast cancer scare and had a double mastectomy, and I’ve dealt with my own mental health struggles. There were definitely tough moments running the business, but having each other made all the difference. That’s why we’ve decided to really focus on our health and staying strong, so we can keep growing Address Only and eventually have a team of installers in every state.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Address Only?
Address Only is all about helping people be found, especially in emergencies. Our main product is reflective number tiles.
They’re durable, strong, and made from stop-sign-grade reflective material. We adhere them with an industrial, waterproof adhesive that flexes when tires hit them.
Unlike painted curb numbers, our products last longer, look better, and reflect at night, making homes much easier to find. My wife and I personally install them for free across Utah — you just pay for the product. We also ship simple DIY kits nationwide through AddressOnly.com.
What I’m most proud of is knowing our work really matters. Thousands of customers, including emergency responders, have told us our numbers help them find homes faster — and in some cases, even save lives, especially at night.
Every address matters, and something as simple as a clearly visible house number can make a huge difference, especially in an emergency, (or getting your pizza while it’s hot!)
We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
To me, success is doing work I love and making a difference.
I get to work with my wife every day, and I love hearing from law enforcement and first responders how much they appreciate what we do.
Knowing that we’re helping people and having a positive impact — that’s what success feels like to me!
