Velvet Ant Studio, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Laura and Brianna met while working at a local flower shop where we learned the basics of floral design, gained a deep passion and love for floristry and built a lifelong friendship with one another. After Laura had her baby boy in 2023, she started her own floral business and Brianna followed shortly after. After growing their own businesses for about 2 years and working together on many projects it was clear that their strengths were better utilized together and the idea of Velvet Ant Studio was born.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
We have definitely experienced struggles along the way. Nothing major, but just the bumps and lessons that come with learning how to grow your own business.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
We are florists that specialize in weddings and events. We approach every design with excitement and intention and are known for our designs that are outside the box. We love incorporating flowers that you may not have heard of or designing in ways that you haven’t seen. We are set apart from others in that we put our whole selves into everything we do. Each wedding or event we contribute flowers to is a labor of love from the first contact with our clients until we take everything down at the end of the night!
Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
We find that our friends and family are always surprised at how much work goes on behind the scenes beyond just “playing with flowers”. It takes a lot to build a brand!
