Hi Reno, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Oh man that’s a very long story, the readers digest version I tell people that I’ll probably never talk to again is that I woke up here. Truth is that I moved her 6 years ago with one goal and that was just to be a tattooer. I accomplished that and am still earning the title every time I set up my station. I also accomplished a lot more and Was blessed with some amazing friends along the way.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Smooth is the illusion. It’s full smooth. Tattooing is gritty and taxing on all other parts of your life if you want to be any good at it. The parts that were hard are still hard you just get batter at dealing with it. Such as life tho. If you want to pursue anything worth it, you will most likely deal with obstacles, haters, fear, failure etc. biggest struggle will always be myself. I am my biggest obstacle, hater but that’s the same energy that got me here in the first place.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m a tattoo artist, I specialize in Grimy blackwork and Neo traditional. I do a lot of blast overs and large scale lettering. I am primarily only tattooing large scale work. Sleeves, back pieces stuff like that.
If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
Joy. I enjoy tattooing, I would be tattooing even if I couldn’t make money doing it. I enjoy talking to people everyday. I’m such an extrovert. I love when it doesn’t feel like a job. The right client / project and it’s just hanging out all day. I think a lot of tattooers I talk to miss that. I could sell a fun day before I could ever sell a perfect tattoo..
