Hi Anastasia, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
When I had my first baby I asked for a camera for my birthday. I wanted to “take better pictures” of him as I got to watch him grow up throughout the years. Something shifted in me when I started to notice we *all* have a story!
Hi I’m Anastasia and here’s part of my journey and why photography means so much to me!
As a mother of five and a storytelling photographer, I understand how powerful it is to feel seen — not just posed. Whether I’m documenting the often overlooked quiet strength of motherhood, the anticipation of new life, or the discipline and grit of an athlete mid-air, I’m looking for the story beneath the surface. The resilience. The connection. The becoming.
I believe photography should do more than preserve a moment — it should *move* you.
My mission is simple: to influence, inspire, and empower others to rise to their fullest potential through my work.
What began 7 years ago as a creative passion just photographing my kids for fun has grown into a purpose-driven business rooted in emotion, and intention. I want to tell a little part of your story.
I hope my clients walk away with more than beautiful images —I hope they leave feeling confident, moved, and deeply valued. Because when you see yourself at your strongest, your most tender, your most determined… something shifts. Photography is just one of the small ways I feel like I can turn that light on in people. And I believe they are NOT “Just Photos” – They’re your memories. i hope to re-frame how you look at something you get to hold onto for forever. Embrace your memories. They’re all a gift!
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I don’t believe any entrepreneurial journey is smooth. I think It takes a lot of grit to keep going. I’ve had days where I just want to shrivel up or go invisible because everything that *could* go wrong with a shoot DID! I’ve had days where a venue was canceled days before a 12 hour shoot with 30+ sessions scheduled, I’ve had days where I forgot the SD cards, or I’ve quoted the wrong time and just had to roll with it shooting into the dark, I’ve had days where SD cards have corrupted and I lose all the photos!
BUT I don’t think I’m unique in struggle. I think it’s how you respond to the struggle that matters. But when you have that inner nudge to keep going… you cannot ignore it.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m a Photographer specializing in gymnastics | Newborns | and family photography based in Utah.
I think what sets me apart from other photographers is 1. that my main work is gymnastics photography (as a former gymnast I became passionate about photographing gymnasts the way I wished I could have growing up in the sport!) and 2. just the eye for storytelling in photos.
Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
! I would say something that has Helped me- is having a background in gymnastics to know HOW to talk to the athletes to get them to perform a skill in a certain way I can photograph it beautifully.
Or spending more *time* with families has taught me how to photograph intentional moments to remember!
But as for luck, I don’t think anyone is lucky. I think there’s a lot of *work* and *time* that people don’t see that goes on behind the scenes
