Today we’d like to introduce you to Eric Bengel.
Eric, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I was a general contractor in upstate New York for about 23 years. My family and I moved to Utah about four years ago, and at the time I thought I was ready to slow down a bit, work as a building inspector, and ride off into the sunset. But it turns out that is not really in my DNA. I started looking into a dumpster rental business, which quickly reignited my entrepreneurial spirit. Now that idea has grown into Elevated Waste Solutions and we have been in business for just over two years.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Like any new business, one of the biggest challenges in the beginning was visibility. When you start from scratch, nobody knows who you are yet, so a lot of the early effort went into simply getting our name out there and building trust in the community.
Another challenge was navigating licensing, permits, and insurance. Even though dumpster rentals are common, the industry is surprisingly niche and there was not always a clear path for getting everything set up. It took a lot of research, phone calls, and good old fashioned face to face conversations to figure it all out.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Elevated Waste Solutions ?
Elevated Waste Solutions is a locally owned dumpster rental company serving homeowners, contractors, and businesses throughout Utah County, Salt Lake County, and surrounding areas. We provide a range of roll off dumpster sizes for projects of all kinds including home cleanouts, remodeling, roofing jobs, construction projects, and concrete removal.
What really sets us apart is our focus on professionalism and customer service in an industry that often overlooks those details. Our dumpsters are clean, well maintained, and easily recognizable with our signature purple branding. We also take extra steps to protect our customers’ property by using protective pads under the dumpsters to help prevent driveway damage.
Brand wise, I am most proud of the reputation we are building in the community. We focus on being reliable, responsive, and easy to work with. Our goal is simple. Provide a better experience than people expect when they rent a dumpster and build long term relationships with the customers and contractors we serve.
Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
I believe the most important quality behind our success is persistence. Starting and growing a business requires a lot of hard work, problem solving, and the willingness to keep moving forward even when things are difficult or uncertain. At the same time, building strong relationships and treating people the right way has been just as important. We are also always looking for new and creative ways to give back to our community, because it is the community that supports our business.
