Inspiring Conversations with Austin Rehkow of Rebound Chiropractic

Today we’d like to introduce you to Austin Rehkow.

Hi Austin, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
My journey into chiropractic care didn’t start with a single ‘aha’ moment, but rather grew out of the community that raised me. Growing up, I was surrounded by the profession; two of my uncles and my Sunday school teacher were all chiropractors. As an athlete playing football and basketball through high school and college, I relied on their care to keep me on the field and performing my best.

Following my college career, I had the opportunity to play in the NFL. It was there that I found out firsthand what it was like to be treated as a pro, with elite-level focus and specialized care. That experience stayed with me; I believe everyone—regardless of whether they are a professional athlete or not—deserves to receive that same kind of dedicated focus and high-standard care.

For a long time, ‘Rebound’ was the dream—I envisioned a clinic that felt genuinely welcoming and inviting, where the focus was on detailed, individualized care from a provider who truly cares about the person, not just the symptoms.

Today, Rebound is exactly what I hoped it would be. My ‘why’ remains simple: I love being around people. There is no greater fulfillment than helping someone get better—especially when they’ve reached a point where they didn’t think improvement was possible. Our first month has seen tremendous growth, and it’s been incredibly rewarding to adapt to our patients’ needs and connect with the Lehi community. I’m so excited to continue establishing the Rebound name and providing the professional-grade care this community deserves.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The road to opening Rebound was definitely not without its hurdles. One of our biggest challenges was the search for the perfect home; finding a location that felt right for our long-term roots took a lot of patience and persistence. Once we found our spot in Lehi, we immediately faced the ‘monster’ of construction. Navigating that process, with all its unexpected delays and logistical headaches, was a significant test of our resolve.

Beyond the physical setup, there was the challenge of design—optimizing a space to fit a comprehensive ‘whole health’ vision that includes massage, chiropractic care, a rehab bay, and medical services, rather than just a high-volume ‘quick pop’ clinic. Despite these obstacles, seeing the clinic come together exactly as envisioned and experiencing the tremendous growth of our first month has made every struggle along the way worth it.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Rebound Chiropractic?
At Rebound, we take a very comprehensive and adaptable approach to care. I provide a variety of chiropractic adjustments, but we go far beyond the “quick pop.” We utilize advanced modalities like shockwave therapy and ozone injections, and I am very hands-on with soft tissue work—incorporating techniques inspired by ART and Graston to ensure we are treating the muscles just as thoroughly as the joints. We also integrate Tonal technology for guided rehab exercises to help patients build lasting strength.

What really sets us apart is the commitment to always expanding and evolving our care until we find exactly what works for the individual. I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all protocol; if one method isn’t yielding results, we pivot and try another until we see progress. My patients often tell me they appreciate that I genuinely care about them as people, not just as a collection of symptoms or injuries.

I am most proud of the “aha” moments—that specific second when a patient realizes they are finally getting better. Whether it’s an athlete returning from a sports injury, someone recovering from a car accident, or a patient finding relief from years of chronic pain, providing that breakthrough is exactly why I do what I do.

What do you like and dislike about the city?
One thing I like best about the city is the community. I think it is awesome seeing how everyone rallies around this community. As a football fanatic, I love going to a Lehi football game and seeing the stadium filled before the game even kicks off. If I had to pick one thing I like least, it would probably be the ‘growing pains’ of the area—sometimes the traffic and construction make it a bit tough to get around, but it’s a small price to pay for being in such a thriving place.
