Rising Stars: Meet Darcy Debernarde of Park City

Today we’d like to introduce you to Darcy Debernarde.

Hi Darcy, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I didn’t get into skincare. because it was trendy, I got into skincare because I lived it.

Growing up, I was painfully aware of my skin. I still remember the moment a was called out by a boy in my 7th grade class. No one taught me how to care for it, I relied on ivory soap and vaseline and hoped it would get better. It didn’t….until my 30’s, when a friend handed me a few simple samples. My skin changed – and more importantly, so did my perception of myself. That moment changed everything.

What started as curiosity became a calling. After attending one of the largest beauty trade shows in Las Vegas, I knew I was meant to become an esthetician. My business has since evolved from strictly spa services, to an acne clinic during the recession, to now specializing in advanced skin revision-focused on creating real, lasting change.

But the deeperwork goes beyond the surface.

I’m also a practioner of NLP, Timeline Therapy, and hypnosis and I’m now integrating these modalities into my business. Because transformation isn’t just about what you see, its about what you believe. Woment have been conditioned to fit into a definition of beauty that was never theirs to begin with. I help them shift that perception- because when you change the way you see yourself, every thing else begins to follow.

Along the way, I have consulted with top skin care brands – expanding their territories, served on the advisory board for Paul Mitchell, and coached and educatid estheticians in advanced paramedical treatments. I have written for industry publications and was voted Favorite Licensed Esthetician by Dermascope Magazine.

After losing both my father and my best friend to cancer, I founded a non profit providing skincare services to those undergoing cancer therapies, because even in life hardest moments, feeling like yourself matters.

Today, my work isnt just about fixing skin, its about changing the relationship[ women have with themselves. And from that place…everything transforms.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Building a client base from nothing was pretty humbling and I have had to do it multiple times. You can be great at what you do, but if clients arent coming in the door, it forces your to confront every belief you have about your value and visibility.

Then cam the recession in the early 2000’s. I had to adapt fast- shifting my business from spa to an acne clinic. People will always pay to fix their acne. Years later, Covid hits and once again, it was adapt or get out. And in the middle of that I went through divorce, ending a 30 year relationship.

Those moments strip everything down.

That’s were NLP, TLT and hypnosis changed things for me. I realized it wasnt about just strategy, it was about perception. The story I was running internally was either limiting me or pushing me forward.

My path has not been linear, I have had to rebuild more than once,. But that’s exactly what shaped my work. Real transformation isnt just external-its how your beliefs, how you see yourself and how you show up.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Everything I mentioned before sets me apart.

I specialize in skin revision- helping clients actually change their skin, not just manage the conditions. My goal is to give them healthy, functioning skin, My focus is corrective work like aging, barrier repair, scars, stretch marks, hypopigmentation etc. What sets me apart is that I dont just treat the skin, I address internal patterns behind it. I help shift both the physical skin and the way my clients see themselves. I am known for getting real results and for being deeply invested in my clients transformations.

I am proud of that my work goes beyond the surface-my clients dont just leave with better skin, they leave seeing results

What was your favorite childhood memory?
My favorite childhood memory is having blackberry fights with my friends and coloring my Keds with blackberry juice.
