Today we’d like to introduce you to Eric Vittardi, Ron Craft, And Mike Ode.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Mike Ode:
Sure, I’m currently the Chief Executive Officer at Foundation Software. We’ve been providing construction software and services to the commercial industry for over 40 years.
I’ve been involved with Foundation for most of my life. And obviously I didn’t start off as the CEO. From the beginning, I made it a point to learn the business inside out. That meant spending time in almost every department just trying to understand how all the pieces fit together.
That experience really shapes how I, in my current leadership role, approach identifying our gaps and finding solutions that would fit well in our portfolio.
I’ve spent the last few years really honing in on some mergers and acquisitions to strengthen our impact on a contractor’s back-office and one of the biggest chapters in that journey was acquiring WorkMax.
Bringing it into Foundation’s suite just made sense — it lets customers see labor costs in real-time and keep projects on track, which is critical for running jobs efficiently. It also integrates with some of our existing products, so everything works together.
Honestly, it’s what makes my job so fun. When you see these moving parts click and create efficiencies and make a difference in how construction companies operate day to day, it’s incredibly rewarding. It keeps me motivated and makes the journey worthwhile.
It’s also great to see the team’s work recognized. WorkMax recently received honors like Gold at the 2025 Merit Awards for Technology and a Construction Executive Top Tech Award in 2025.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Ron Craft:
Overall, it’s been a smooth road for me. I started in sales at WorkMax eight years ago, and early on my focus was learning the industry and understanding the challenges field workers face every day.
Today, I work with the customer success team to make sure contractors are getting the most out of WorkMax.
Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of watching the company grow. The platform has evolved tremendously — expanding its features, refining its capabilities and becoming a trusted solution for contractors across the country.
What’s been most rewarding is seeing how WorkMax helps real people do their jobs more efficiently every day and continuing to witness the impact it has on the way contractors manage their labor and run their projects.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Eric Vittardi:
I’m in sales and always on the lookout for where our audience’s pain points are. When I first got involved with WorkMax, what struck me was how much of a disconnect there was between the field and the office in construction companies.
Crews were out on jobsites doing the work, meanwhile back in the office, people were trying to track labor and costs — but most of the tools just didn’t fit the way contractors actually work. Paper timesheets, spreadsheets — it was slow, messy and frustrating for everyone.
Seeing the gap firsthand made it clear why WorkMax was needed — it’s designed around real-world construction workflows, helping crews capture time accurately and giving project managers a clear view of every job.
It’s the bridge that people at the jobsites and owners alike are looking for.
How do you think about happiness?
**The question in the form when I spoke to our leadership was “What are you most proud of brand wise?” I’ll include that answer below, if you need the happiness one answered instead, please just drop me a line and I can get it!**
Mike Ode:
What I’m most proud of brand-wise is the trust and credibility WorkMax has earned in the construction industry.
The brand has always recognized contractors’ challenges and provided solutions that make that work easier and more efficient.
That focus on solving practical problems, rather than just selling software, is why WorkMax is the standard in the industry.
And since adding WorkMax to the Foundation family, it’s been incredibly rewarding to see that reputation grow even stronger.
We’ve been able to expand its capabilities, integrate it with Foundation’s portfolio of construction products and continue innovating — all while preserving the reliability and customer-first mindset that made the product so respected.
Above all, I’m proud of the talented individuals who work here. Their dedication, creativity and deep understanding of the construction industry are what allow us to deliver real value every day.
