Rising Stars: Meet Teya Ridenour of Utah

Today we’d like to introduce you to Teya Ridenour.

Teya, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I have always had love for the beauty industry since a child and making people feel confident, happy, and expressive through personal image. I also am a big advocate for mental health, as I have struggled myself. I transform individuals not only physically, but mentally, too. Clients leave my salon room feeling not only beautiful, but satisfied internally. I see a huge difference in long-term/regular clients in the way they act and talk about themselves. Beauty outside helps to see the beauty within for some. I love watching and guiding my clients through their transformations physically and emotionally.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
My main struggles along the way are my own personal image/being scared of being perceived and bringing home clients’ baggage (because I care).

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a full service, self-employed, individual, licensed, and certified cosmetologist and S-Corp. I strive to be a “one-stop-shop” for my clients, as I know what it’s like dealing with social anxiety. Having one go-to service provider is way better for some of our minds. It’s hard to trust and build connections with people sometimes. Offering all services helps relieve the stress of finding and trusting multiple service providers. I take pride in my work; proper cleaning and sanitation, correct application, and honest communication with my guests even if I “messed up”.

Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
Be open minded and communicative. Always say/ask what’s on your mind even if you feel silly. Take advantage of social media and social media groups.
