Today we’d like to introduce you to Jerren Staker.
Hi Jerren, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I worked for another locksmith for a few years until I felt ready to start out on my own. I started with just me in a van out in Eagle Mountain. Within a few years the business had grown enough we were ready to open a shop. We moved the business to Pleasant Grove and currently have 3 vans on the road. Between the technicians, we have over 20 years of experience and that will only grow! I couldn’t be more proud of the business and my team. We are grateful for the help and security we have been able to provide for the people we serve. Thank you to everyone who has supported us along the way!
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
There have definitely been some struggles. I started my business from scratch so me and my team have had to create all the systems we have in place. Growing pains effect every business, and ours is no different. Locksmithing is a bit niche so many people we have hired have had little to no experience in it. Creating a training system and ensuring we can give every customer the best experience we can has been a long process and one we are still learning. We have a strong reputation of good service and intend to always keep it.
We’ve been impressed with Turn-A-Key Locksmith, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Our shop is in Pleasant Grove and our vans go Spanish Fork to Ogden and beyond! We mainly deal with locks, keys, security systems, doors, and safes. Both old and new hardware come with their own challenges and we love to find both! We work with individuals and businesses for buildings and automotive. We’re known for our customer service, cleanliness, and problem solving. Working from repairs and replacements, we never leave a job half finished. We have many resources to pull from and recommendations when an issue is beyond our scope. We have a strong belief that everything is figureoutable, and good work speaks for itself. We manage and offer many high security and restricted keys all throughout Utah and recommend them whenever its applicable. Safety and security in our community is our highest priority.
Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
Before being a locksmith, I trained to be a firefighter. I think it has given me a unique view on forced entry prevention and fire safety.
I also built and drove a derby car in the last May Mania in Ogden.
