Meet Sierra Corrigan of Utah

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sierra Corrigan.

Hi Sierra, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Design has always been a passion of mine and I have cultivated it through my jewelry practice. I am self taught with 12 years of experience working with gemstones and metal to fashion into pendants and rings. My style leans towards maximalism which allows me to flex my eye for detail and intricacy.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
In the last year of making jewelry full time I have designed a booth for craft markets and launched my own ecommerce website. Markets are my main source of income, but my goal is to get enough traffic and sales through my website that I don’t need to attend markets as frequently. While I found a way to manage my disability, it is unreliable and working from home better suits my available stamina.

As a one woman show, I wear all the hats. I do the design, craft, photography, social media, ecommerce, taxes, accounting and in person vending. I can’t say I am great as a social media manager as I tend to get distracted by my feed when I intend to post something new. It is slow going to get traffic on my website since it launched last year and I have a lot to learn about marketing. I am hoping to hire someone to do all of that for me so I can focus on my craft.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I run a handmade jewelry business focused on copper and silver wire wrapped pieces, especially one of a kind pendants made with natural stones. My work is inspired by symbolism, astrology, and geometry. I create for people who are drawn to alternative fashion and spirituality, and who want something that feels personal rather than mass produced.

I started full time with my business during a major transition in my life. After developing Dystonia, I had to step away from work that relied heavily on my voice. I needed something sustainable that I could build with my hands and grow over time. Jewelry became that path, and it has allowed me to stay independent while adapting to a real physical limitation.

What keeps me motivated is the connection I make with customers. Many of them are not just buying jewelry. They are looking for something that reflects who they are or what they are going through. My background as a certified astrologer shapes how I think about design, and I am continuing to develop collections that tie more directly into symbolism and showcase the healing properties of crystals.

My Etsy shop serves a more specific purpose within my business. It focuses on my wire wrapped spoons, which connect to the concept of “The Spoon Theory,” a framework often used in chronic illness communities to describe limited daily energy. This aspect of my work is personal to me. Living with a condition that has affected my ability to use my voice has shaped how I think about energy, capacity, and invisible illness.

These pieces resonate with people who see themselves reflected in that experience, and they have become one of my best selling product lines. They also represent a deeper layer of meaning in my work, where jewelry is not just decorative, but also serves to increase awareness of chronic illness. It is incredibly fulfilling to have this as part of my practice.

What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
Don’t let perfect be the enemy of good. You need to start something without the fear that it won’t live up to your expectations to lay the foundation to practice until you are satisfied with the results.
