Today we’d like to introduce you to Chandler Larsen.
Hi Chandler, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Six years ago, I was really lost. My family had just moved across the country and we didn’t know anyone. I had been a makeup artist for years and starting over with my clients was overwhelming on top of being freshly postpartum and breaking away from my religious upbringing. I felt like I had no idea who I was or what I wanted anymore. I ended up getting my own color analysis done and was so empowered! I didn’t have to think about what to wear, if outfits worked together, or feel the pressure of following trends to stay relevant or feel beautiful.
This decision was transformative, leading me to deep dive into color theory and I become captivated by it! A couple years later we moved back to our home town and I decided it was the perfect opportunity to start my own color analyst certification.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Honestly, it has been fairly smooth. I spent a lot of time over the years building trust and report with my previous clients and community. Making the switch felt authentic and refreshing, and while it’s scary doing anything new my community was so supportive and excited for me! Some of the biggest challenges include pioneering a new system in a very niche community and getting into color analysis before it got really mainstream. I created almost everything from scratch which takes a lot of time and energy behind the scenes.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I do color analysis which is finding the colors that make you look and feel your healthiest and most confident. I’m mastered in the 22-palette system which is the most diverse and comprehensive system globally! It is specifically designed with an individual in mind so that they aren’t put into a box just because of their hair color, skin tone, eye color, etc.
I’m known for my client after care and resources. I don’t want my clients to just learn their colors I want them to embrace them! I make sure to provide special tools, resources, and time to each person so that they really understand their colors so they make the best choices when it comes to their wardrobe, hair, and makeup. I make sure to continue my education every year so that I can stay fresh and improve my skills and client experience.
So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
Accuracy and client experience. Accuracy is important because I don’t want to do my clients a disservice. Even if they get a result they weren’t expecting, I know that through their appointment they will be able to see and understand why those colors work for them. I don’t want my clients wasting time and money on something that doesn’t truly compliment them. Everyone will have personal preferences but my system is based on science not biases.
I make sure each client leaves their appointment feeling beautiful and capable of learning their colors. It’s one thing to know your colors but it’s another to actually know how to identify them when you’re out shopping. Your palette has colors that are great individually but when you know how to combine them into different outfits and styles you create a full cohesive capsule wardrobe!
