Check Out Shwa Laytart’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Shwa Laytart.

Hi Shwa, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’ve been writing my whole life. Poetry was my first love. Along with my photojournalist wife, I spent over a decade as a counter-culture journalist covering everything from cannabis, entertainment, activism, and social issues. I self-published my first book in 2019, right before COVID. I found it would be much easier if my wife started our own publishing house. Since then, we have published over twenty unique books with multiple writers and artists from the western states.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The struggles have mainly been with folks who lack extra funds. The second issue would be people who just don’t read. But we definitely have our fanbase, and it’s growing!

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I love working with our talent and discovering new talent. The success of the up-and-coming artists and writers we work with is what I’m most proud of. As well as selling out over a thousand copies of my first two books. I am currently known for my poetry. They call me the ‘Dark Dr. Seuss’.

Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
Patience and consistency.
