Life & Work with Ronnie Thomas of Utah

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ronnie Thomas.

Hi Ronnie, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I started creating content when I was 13 years old, making funny skits on Facebook just to entertain my friends. At 17, I realized I wanted to take it seriously, so I began investing more time into improving my videos and learning everything I could about content creation. The biggest turning point came in 2019 when I expanded from posting only on Instagram to TikTok. Within two months, I had gained over 200,000 followers, and that’s when I realized content creation could become something much bigger than a hobby. Since then, I’ve continued to grow across multiple platforms, building an audience of hundreds of thousands by creating comedy videos that help people laugh and connect through relatable experiences.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth journey. Like a lot of creators, I’ve struggled with self-doubt, imposter syndrome, inconsistency, and periods of low motivation. There were plenty of times I questioned whether I should keep going, especially when videos didn’t perform the way I hoped. Learning not to tie my self-worth to view counts has been one of the biggest challenges. Over time, I’ve realized that consistency and persistence matter more than chasing a single viral moment, and that mindset has helped me continue growing both as a creator and as a person.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I create short-form comedy content for an audience of more than 1.1 million followers across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and YouTube. My specialty is taking relatable everyday situations, internet culture, and trending moments in pop culture and turning them into comedy skits that people instantly recognize. Many people know me from viral character series inspired by franchises like Harry Potter and Courage the Cowardly Dog, as well as my pet-owner sketches that highlight the funny, everyday moments of owning animals.
What I’m most proud of is that I’ve been able to turn something I genuinely love into a career. It’s still surreal that I get to write jokes, play different characters, make people laugh, and work with brands doing something I enjoy every day. I think what sets me apart is my creativity and willingness to experiment. I don’t rely on one formula, I enjoy blending storytelling, relatable humor, and high-quality production to create content that feels both polished and authentic.

Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
I think the creator economy will continue to grow over the next decade as brands shift more of their advertising budgets from traditional media to social media. Creator marketing has become one of the most effective ways for brands to reach consumers, and I don’t see that changing anytime soon.
At the same time, I believe AI will completely reshape the industry. It’s already helping creators with editing, scripting, voice generation, and idea development, but I think we’re only seeing the beginning. As AI improves, it will lower the barrier to creating content so dramatically that we’ll see an explosion of AI-generated creators, virtual influencers, and fully automated content. In some cases, I do think AI will replace human creators and even genuine creativity to an extent.
I think the challenge for creators moving forward won’t just be making good content, it will be building a personality and community that people genuinely care about. As content becomes easier to produce, authenticity, trust, and a unique perspective will become even more valuable.
