Hi AuLora, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
This has been my dream job since I was 14 years old. I was a little late to the party due to family circumstances, but I finally was able to focus on myself. In doing so I got into beauty school. Worked hard and did everything I could to show that I belonged, that I can show the world, the nay sayers, that no one is ganna hold me back.
And I haven’t stopped ever since. My clientele has grown and I’m even doing hair for K-Pop groups! Everything I ever wanted and more! Dreams do come true!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The biggest hurdle I have had to overcome was learning not to get in my own way. I needed to build the confidence to believe that I could succeed wherever I went. Instead of getting stuck in my own head and overthinking every situation, I learned to trust myself and my abilities. Believing in myself has helped me face challenges with greater confidence and continue moving forward.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
What sets me apart as a hairstylist is my commitment to never giving up. If I don’t know the answer to something or haven’t mastered a technique yet, I don’t stop there—I research, learn, and find the solution. If I can’t answer a question immediately, I’ll find the answer and follow up because my clients deserve that level of dedication.
I’m always looking for ways to better serve my clients, even when they’re not sitting in my chair. Whether I’m out shopping, attending classes, or simply going about my day, I’m constantly paying attention to products, techniques, and innovations that could benefit them. My passion for this industry doesn’t end when I leave the salon.
I give my clients my full commitment because I genuinely care about helping them look and feel their best. I specialize in color, work confidently with all hair textures, and offer multiple types of extension installations, including mesh integration. I believe in continuing to grow my skills so I can provide the best possible experience and results for every person who trusts me with their hair.
With everything I’ve learned and continue to pursue, I have confidence in my abilities—but I also know there’s always room to grow. That’s what drives me. My goal isn’t just to be a great hairstylist; it’s to be someone my clients can trust to always give my best, keep learning, and never stop striving to provide exceptional care.
Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
The biggest piece of advice I can give anyone starting in the hair industry is this: you get out of it exactly what you put into it. Success doesn’t happen overnight—it comes from showing up consistently, working hard, staying curious, and never stopping your education. The more time, effort, and passion you invest in your craft, the more rewarding this career becomes. Stay dedicated, keep learning, and always give your clients your best. Your work ethic and commitment will set you apart.
