Today we’d like to introduce you to Floyd Roith.
Hi Floyd, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My story for art started right from when I was young. I always like to pass the time when I was a young child drawing I was always drawing sketching. I always found a peaceful when I got older. I went into the Navy after high school when I got out of the Navy and ex-girlfriend of mine, saw my artwork and thought it was really good. She then proceeded to buy me a tattoo machine for my birthday after I got the tattoo machine I did some tattoos on myself and some close friends and they actually came out pretty good so that’s when I decided to make tattooing a career and since then I’ve been tattooing for about 14 years now and I wouldn’t trade it for the world, I got a lot of help along the way support from my family my friends my dad let me Tattoo out of his house and my brother. Let me do some of my first pieces of our work on !
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
What are the biggest struggles for me was finding in Apprenticeship in a tattoo shop that when I started tattooing it wasn’t a very common job and it was very difficult to get into the industry. You really had to force yourself into the industry, especially as a younger man, I became a professional at 21 most people in Tattoo shops wouldn’t take me seriously as far as wanting to be in the Tattoo industry
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a tattoo artist, and in all around artist, I love creating just about anything. Part of my job is taking an idea that a client has and being able to translate that into a beautiful piece of art that they can wear around for the rest of their life and be proud of it’s really cool during the designing process you can sit down with the client kind of pick their brain their ideas and brainstorm of something nice and it’s always cool to see how they like my interpretation of their ideas. I also like a pride myself and being able to do just about any style that comes in the door. It really helps when you’re trying to take a clients ideas and being able to give them options as far as different styles to they can choose from that they like to be able to put those on their body. I also really tried myself on work with integrity and longevity. I like a piece of artwork that’s gonna be on my body for the rest of their life that will stay on the test of time
Alright, so to wrap up, is there anything else you’d like to share with us?
I just like to give a big thank you to everyone who is reading this and everyone who has helped me a long way even as far as just opportunities or even small gratitude
