Hi Madison, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I actually started photography at a pretty young age. What began as a creative hobby quickly turned into something I became really passionate about, and over the last seven years I’ve worked to refine both my technical skills and my artistic style. As I grew, I realized I wasn’t just interested in taking beautiful photos—I wanted to tell stories and capture genuine emotion in a way that feels cinematic and timeless.
Today, I’m a full-time photographer based in Utah, specializing in weddings, couples, families, and editorial-style sessions. My focus is creating an experience where people feel comfortable enough to be themselves, because that’s when the most meaningful images happen. I’ve also spent a lot of time building my business, creating a client experience that feels intentional from the first inquiry through final delivery. Looking back, it’s been a journey of turning something I loved into a career that’s allowed me to connect with incredible people and preserve some of the most important moments of their lives.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. Like a lot of small business owners, one of the biggest challenges was learning that being a photographer is only part of the job. You also have to become a marketer, editor, accountant, customer service representative, and business owner all at once. There was a lot of trial and error figuring out pricing, attracting the right clients, and building a brand that truly reflected my style.
I also had to learn to trust my own creative vision instead of comparing myself to everyone else. It’s easy to get caught up in trends, especially in a creative industry, but I’ve found that the work I’m most proud of comes from staying true to the storytelling and cinematic style that inspires me. Every challenge has taught me something, and those lessons have helped shape both my business and the experience I provide for my clients.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m a Utah-based photographer specializing in weddings, couples, families, and editorial portraiture, with a style that’s very cinematic, intentional, and story-driven. My goal has never been to simply document what a moment looked like—it’s to capture what it felt like. I want my clients to look back at their images years later and immediately reconnect with the emotions of that season of their lives.
What I’m most proud of is the experience I’ve built for my clients. From the first inquiry to delivering the final gallery, I want people to feel cared for, guided, and completely comfortable in front of my camera. Most people tell me they aren’t photogenic or don’t know how to pose, and I love proving them wrong by creating an environment where they can simply be themselves.
I think what sets me apart is that I don’t chase trends. I’ve worked hard to develop a style that’s authentic to me—one that blends movement, light, and genuine connection to create images that feel timeless rather than temporary. I’m constantly refining my craft, but at the heart of it, my priority is always telling each client’s story in a way that’s honest, artistic, and uniquely theirs.
If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
Growing up, I was always a creative and observant person. I was the kind of kid who noticed the little details that other people often overlooked, and I loved finding ways to express myself creatively. I’ve always been drawn to storytelling, whether that was through art, creating things, or eventually photography.
Personality-wise, I was pretty driven but also a little quiet. I enjoyed being around people, but I was more of an observer than the center of attention. Looking back, I think that’s actually one of the reasons photography became such a good fit for me. I naturally enjoy watching moments unfold and capturing genuine emotion without interrupting it.
Even though I’ve grown a lot in confidence over the years, I still carry that same curiosity and appreciation for authentic moments. I think those qualities shape not only who I am as a person, but also how I approach every session and every client I work with.
