Hi jamie, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I didn’t take the traditional path to becoming a business owner. I grew up with a single mom, dropped out of high school during my sophomore year, and spent years learning most things the hard way. I played semi-pro and arena football, coached for more than a decade, raised my kids, went through personal struggles, and had three businesses fail before Cache Coffee ever existed.
In 2019, my wife, Mindie, and I started Cache Coffee and More in Logan, Utah. We didn’t have a huge budget or a perfect business plan. We had a willingness to work, a belief that we could create something different, and a desire to build a place where people felt like they belonged.
Cache Coffee became more than a coffee shop. Community is the heartbeat of everything we do. We host free Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners, veterans’ breakfasts, weekly Veterans Nights, fundraisers, concerts, and other events that bring people together. We also created the Cache Coffee Safe Storage Program to help prevent veteran suicide by giving people a secure and judgment-free place to temporarily store their firearms during a mental-health crisis.
We eventually expanded into roasting our own coffee and supplying restaurants, coffee shops, grocery stores, military units, veterans’ organizations, and customers across the country. We source coffee directly from a farmer in Brazil and roast to order. Building that side of the company gave us more control over quality and allowed us to create custom and private-label coffee for other businesses.
The journey hasn’t been easy. In December 2025, a tree crashed into our roasting facility. Insurance denied the claim, but our community showed up, helped us build a temporary wall, and we were roasting coffee again within about 24 hours. That experience showed me exactly what we had built. It wasn’t just a customer base—it was a community that believed in us because we had always believed in them.
Along the way, Mindie and I also started RWB Nutrition, and I wrote my first book, *Kaizen 60: Build Discipline, Momentum, and Identity*. Everything I do today is tied together by the same idea: your past doesn’t decide who you become. Discipline, consistent action, and a willingness to keep moving forward can completely change your life.
We are still growing, still learning, and still getting punched in the mouth occasionally. But we keep showing up. That is how we started, and honestly, it is how we got where we are today.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. Before Cache Coffee, I had already experienced three failed businesses. I’ve struggled with alcohol, mental health, financial pressure, and periods when I questioned whether I was capable of building anything that would last. Those failures were expensive, painful lessons, but they taught me resilience and made me a better leader.
Starting Cache Coffee brought a different set of challenges. We began with limited resources, and Mindie and I had to learn nearly every part of the business ourselves—operations, staffing, marketing, roasting, bookkeeping, customer service, and managing cash flow. When you own a small business, you don’t get to focus only on what you enjoy. You have to solve whatever problem is standing in front of you that day.
One of our biggest setbacks happened in December 2025, when a tree crashed into our roasting facility. That experience represents our entire journey. Something goes wrong, we assess the damage, and then we get back to work. I’ve learned that success isn’t about avoiding hardship. It’s about becoming someone who can take the hit, adapt, and keep moving forward.

Cache Coffee and More is an independent coffee company based in Logan, Utah. We operate a community-focused coffee shop and our own roasting facility, where we roast coffee for our store, online customers, restaurants, other coffee shops, grocery stores, military units, and private-label partners.
We are known for bold coffee, a patriotic identity, and refusing to act like a typical corporate coffee brand. We source coffee directly from a farmer in Brazil, roast to order, and focus on getting freshly roasted coffee to our customers quickly. We also help other businesses launch or expand their own coffee programs through wholesale roasting, custom blends, and private-label services.
What truly sets Cache Coffee apart is that community is not just something we use in our marketing—it is the reason we exist. We host free Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners, veterans’ breakfasts, weekly Veterans Nights, fundraisers, concerts, and community events. We have also shipped coffee to military units, Navy ships, boot camps, VA hospitals, and service members stationed around the world through our Supply Line program.
One of the things I am most proud of is the Cache Coffee Safe Storage Program. It provides a secure, confidential, and judgment-free option for veterans and community members to temporarily store their firearms during a mental-health crisis. We are not a veteran-owned company, but supporting veterans and helping prevent suicide are central parts of our mission.
At the end of the day, we sell coffee—but what we are really building is connection. We want people to know that Cache Coffee is a place where they can walk through the door, be treated like family, and know their business helps support something bigger than a cup of coffee.
What are your plans for the future?
Our goal is to grow Cache Coffee beyond a successful local coffee shop and build it into a nationally recognized coffee brand without losing the identity and community that made it successful.
A major focus is expanding our wholesale and private-label business. We want to supply more independent coffee shops, restaurants, grocery stores, businesses, military organizations, and government customers across the country. We are building the systems and team needed to grow while maintaining the quality, freshness, and personal service that set us apart.
We also plan to expand the Cache Coffee Safe Storage Program and create more awareness around veteran suicide prevention and mental health. I would like to see the program become a model that other businesses and communities can use.
Personally, I am continuing to grow RWB Nutrition and build on the message behind my book, *Kaizen 60: Build Discipline, Momentum, and Identity*. Whether it is coffee, nutrition, writing, or community work, everything connects back to helping people become stronger and showing them that their past does not have to control their future.
The biggest change I am working toward is building companies that can operate through strong people and solid systems instead of depending on me for every decision. That will allow us to create a bigger impact, reach more people, and continue building opportunities for our family, our employees, and our community.
