Community Highlights: Meet Adam Diener of Vegan Daddy Meats

Today we’d like to introduce you to Adam Diener.

Hi Adam, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Vegan Daddy Meats, started on January 1, 2021 out of my home kitchen. Located in Salt Lake City, UT . Passionate about animal rights, environment, health and cooking, I started Vegan Daddy Meats as an online retail store, where you could purchase local handmade artisan seitan, and have it hand delivered to your house .

Vegan Daddy Meats started with the idea to fulfill the need for locally hand made faux meats for business and consumers .

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I didn’t go to business school, or restaurant management classes. So that aspect of running the business is tricky for sure! But it’s all worth it. I love what I do! There is so much to stay on top of as an owner operator. I wear all the hats!

As you know, we’re big fans of Vegan Daddy Meats . For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
The idea behind my restaurant is to provide familiar foods that everyone loves, without the exploiting and killing animals. Some of our most popular menu items are the “Varby’s Beaf n Cheddar Sandwich” made with thinly sliced roast beaf, and housemade cheddar cheese sauce. It’s our signature sandwich. Another popular item is our “VFC BOWL” . Mashed potatoes, housemade gravy, fried Chik’n, sweet corn, topped with green onions. We also sell our products in our retail freezer , so they can be taken home and used in your favorite recipes . I make bacon, Chik’n, cornd beaf, ham, jerky, pepperoni, fried Chik’n, steak strips, turky roasts , ham roasts, and more . My meats can be found at piper down pub, lazy day cafe, handlebar, sweet hazel, harp n hound in Ogden, to name a few.

What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
Take things slow! Don’t bite off more than you can chew. I think a lot of business fail because they are doing way too much. My approach has always been taking baby steps and making sure I’m always ready for the next project before I start it.
