Exploring Life & Business with Otto Theerasilp of Caffeine Station

Today we’d like to introduce you to Otto Theerasilp.

Hi Otto, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
In my early twenties, I went to study in Sydney, Australia, where I fell in love with the local coffee culture. Great cafés were on every corner, and I became fascinated by how each cup was made. I started learning the whole journey of coffee, from growing and sorting beans to roasting, brewing, and serving.
When I later moved to the United States, I missed those Sydney days, so I set out to open a café of my own while learning how Americans enjoy their coffee. I started small, as a family-run shop. Over time, team members who shared my passion and approach to coffee joined me, and that helped us grow into the two locations we have today.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It hasn’t been a smooth road. First, I had to find a roaster who could roast and blend several types of beans to create the flavor I had in mind. Then I had to learn how to run a business, because loving coffee alone isn’t enough to keep a shop going. On top of that, American coffee culture is quite different from what I knew in Sydney and back home, so I’ve had to keep adapting along the way.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Caffeine Station ?
Our goal in opening the shop was simple: great-tasting coffee and warm service, all in one place where families and friends can gather. We wanted to offer more than good coffee, so we also serve good food and take care of every guest. Everything we make comes from real care, and our whole team puts that care into every cup and plate.
What sets us apart is that we roast our own coffee. We offer a variety of seasonal blends made with beans from at least three countries. Our crepes are crafted with love by my wife, and we also have caffeine-free options for anyone who prefers them.

We love surprises, fun facts and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
Most people who know our shop might not realize that I’m originally from Thailand. My love for coffee began in Sydney, where I studied and discovered the café culture there. Years later, I brought that passion to the United States, where I opened my own coffee shop and now roast my own beans.
