Today we’d like to introduce you to Kamie Afo-Aiono.
Hi Kamie , can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My name is Kamie Afo-Aiono and I started Paradise Porch 6yrs ago.
In 2020 I was working my 17th year in the dental field & decided I wanted to move forward with what I really enjoy.
I love events, making peoples visions come to life & floral work.
I decided to bring a tropical flare to the floral industry here in Utah. Leis & tropical florals have been difficult to get. I finally am able to bring this to our community at affordable prices so we can continue traditions of lei giving and also lei making with my workshops. I love all things floral and hope to share a touch of Paradise with everyone.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It’s been pretty smooth. I have had to learn how things work out of state with tropical farms and resources. And to learn to network.
We’ve been impressed with Paradise Porch, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Specialize in floral work. And tropical florals. I offer all types of leis for all events and life celebrations.
I am most proud to be able to help the community celebrate life milestones and also be there for some of their most sacred times during funeral work. Being able to create leis & floral work has been so much fun.
What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
Being able to grow with community and offer what is needed and wanted.
