Life & Work with Samantha Marble of Utah

Today we’d like to introduce you to Samantha Marble.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
In 2022, I started pet sitting through Rover as a way to supplement my income while working as a paraeducator. What started as a side gig quickly became something I loved.
Over the years, I built relationships with incredible pets and their people. Clients became friends, their pets became family, and somewhere along the way, I found a community that believed in me before I fully believed in myself.
In March 2026, a few of my repeat clients encouraged me to take a leap and start my own business. They saw something in me that I was still trying to find the courage to pursue.
By June, I said goodbye to my career in education and took Treks & Tails full-time.
Was I terrified? Absolutely. Leaving behind something familiar to build something of my own was one of the scariest decisions I’ve ever made.
But it has also been one of the best.
I didn’t build Treks & Tails alone. It was built on trust, relationships, wagging tails, and a community of pet parents who believed in what I was creating.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I’ve been incredibly fortunate to find success, but building a business while learning how to run one has definitely come with its challenges. Sometimes I’ve taken on more than I could realistically handle and haven’t met the high expectations I set for myself.
One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that growth comes with mistakes, and what matters most is how you respond to them.
I’ve been lucky to have truly incredible clients who have offered honest feedback, shown me grace, and given me opportunities to learn and improve along the way.
I’m still learning how to balance my passion for caring for animals with the responsibilities of running a business. It hasn’t always been easy, but every challenge has helped me become a better business owner and pet care provider.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I provide relationship-based pet care that goes beyond simply showing up. I offer dog walking, drop-in visits, overnight pet sitting, day adventures, and enrichment activities, all tailored to each animal’s individual needs, personality, and comfort level.
I specialize in working with anxious, reactive, senior, and special-needs pets who may need a little extra patience, understanding, or specialized care. I have experience in animal rescue and fostering. I am certified in pet CPR and first aid, and medication administration. I’m comfortable caring for pets with a wide range of needs.
I am best known for building trust with my clients. I focus heavily on understanding body language, respecting boundaries, and using force-free, trust-based approaches. I don’t believe every pet should be expected to adjust to a new caregiver overnight. Sometimes that means multiple meet-and-greets, walking alongside their owners, or slowly introducing new routines until they’re comfortable.
What sets Treks & Tails apart is that I don’t believe in one-size-fits-all pet care. I work closely with pet parents to understand their animals, maintain consistency, and create experiences that support their physical and emotional well-being.
At the heart of everything I do is a simple belief: great pet care starts with trust, and trust is something you earn

What matters most to you?
What matters the most to me is community and trust. TnT was built on relationships. Those relationships continue to be the heart of all I do.
