Rising Stars: Meet Ashlee Quilter

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashlee Quilter.

Hi Ashlee, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself
I have been drawn to healing and helping since I was a young child. I have traveled, explored, and studied various realms from which healing can occur and truly found that there is a piece missing. I have a Bachelor of Science from the University of Utah’s College of Health in Therapeutic Recreation. Worked and trained in facilities from the Veteran’s hospital inpatient psych ward to lock-down facilities for youth to Montessori educational institutions.

I was a Red Cross First Aid and CPR Trainer for four years and have done various other training and certifications including Mandt, Cranial-Sacral, Hot Stone, Essential Oils and Plant, and Flowers Essences, and of course, Massage Therapy and Bodywork. I believe in a higher level of healing. I have seen it and experienced it. Some say magic, others miracles; nevertheless, along with the rest of the Bodywork and Massage Therapy workers, I am just beginning to understand and utilize these successful techniques. These therapists are true healers. Seeking, listening, hearing, and understanding how to apply specific techniques and protocols for one’s own healing pathways.

We can get this big wheel turning again to the most sensational rhythm if we can love ourselves and give our bodies the truth they need to feel competent and strong. For every human (and animal- even landscapes and plants!) To truly keep moving forward, we need to start a more purposeful and intentionally focused personalized Bodywork regime using Massage Therapy and Bodywork techniques.

Properly facilitated Massage Therapy and Bodywork allows your physical body to communicate with your mind and heart, or subconscious. Massage Therapists and Bodyworkers are able to provide an environment and atmosphere where the different pieces of YOU can come together to release the negative traumas and energies and heal by making space within to fill with the positive.

I believe, only when you can turn in, will you be able to turn outward to really see, help, and uplift others. It is time to start being honest with ourselves and filling the inner parts of our subconscious and heart with positive virtues of strength, peace, forgiveness, love, and mercy. When you ask who I am, I know I am here to help people heal and feel better. Life has a funny way of bringing you personal serendipitous symbols and quite literally breaking me down through my name, Ash is representative of an Ash Tree; and Lee, a clearing or meadow.

The Ash tree represents the famous Tree of Life.

Ashwood has some specialized qualities: the wood is soft enough to easily work and shape. It also has large open pores, which is great for guitars. According to the Fender Guitar Company, Ashwood makes the sound waves “remarkably resonant and sweet-sounding, with clearly chiming highs, defined midrange, and strong low end.” Ashwood, when impacted compresses and sends the impacted object away with a “trampoline effect.” (Louisville Slugger baseball bats are made from Ash wood for this reason.)

I can emanate sweet, chiming, defined, and strong waves for clearing away the injuries of life to facilitate personalized healing. As I perform Bodywork and Massage Therapy I am able to sense impacted emotional traumas and subconscious injuries and debris or clutter within a system and help build trust and support with a body system assisting and facilitating a natural clearing, repairing, and/or restoration of the body. A beautiful clearing and meadow is made ready for you to fill it with positive virtues to propel your life forward in a happy purposeful way.

I know one thing I’ve always been good at is supporting those who are hurting, those who need a friend, a sounding board, comfort, or encouragement, those who need focused assistance, and care. It took me 34 years to find my own balance with this gift and boundaries (those who work with and are sensitive to the unseen energies understand the weight and overbearing effect that can have on the little soul!) But I’m here. I’m ready to help people understand they can choose to feel better and be happier. I’m here to help one by one, people connect again with their bodies and the amazing capabilities within us.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Struggles along the way were and still are the little things that build and accumulate that when not handled or taken care of within a decent timeframe become big piles of debris that need more of a clearing, coming to terms with, etcetera. Some of my biggest struggles have been learning to feel safe, heard, and supported. Also, my health, facing some scary choices and decisions I didn’t think I’d ever face at 34 years old.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am most proud of my visceral bodywork. Our bodies were created to be an inclusive working system to perpetuate life—life for new beings and life within the individual. As such, the human body is capable of mending and self-healing. Learning to communicate with our bodies and the signals it sends is imperative to unfolding the healing capabilities for aspects of both spirit and body. A recognized signal observed or felt through both physical and emotional pain or discomfort is a precious coded bit of information from your body or spirit asking to be acknowledged and healed, saying, “It’s time to change.” These changes help to perpetuate your life (the life within you) to a higher and more complete quality.

Our bodies are like a jar of sand mixed with gold flakes. Such value we contain! However, it can be difficult to purify the gold, let alone see it, unless you gently shake the jar. Similarly, every time you receive a signal, what might feel like a grain of sand in your body (or a rock!), scratchy, painful, tension, it is wise to notice and reflect. The life within you wants to be whole, purified, refined—completely healed.

Personal, purposeful, and intentional massage and bodywork is a gentle shake to bring to light the messages emitted to help remove the “sand” from our jars so that the golden substance of ourselves can shine and flourish. If you desire a positive change in your health, well-being, gifts, talents, knowledge, peace, etc. pay attention. Make good use of a good body communicator through massage therapy and bodywork. Your jar of gold is worth it!

What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
I love that I can see and be surrounded by beautiful landscapes. I dislike dry winters.
