Exploring Life & Business with Tara Sharifan of Resolutions Counseling Center

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tara Sharifan.

Hi Tara, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers?
I have wanted to help people, especially children, heal and thrive for as long as I can remember. I found my path toward that through mental health. Through each experience I had working with youth in various contexts, from schools to treatment centers to medical hospitals, I was always driven to keep growing and doing more–expanding the reach of the help I could provide. That drive fostered my vision of creating an integrated wellness center. Resolutions Counseling Center has been an established mental health treatment center in this community for decades. Bringing together my vision with Resolutions’ strong foundation has been an incredible opportunity to begin growing a wellness center that acknowledges and responds to community members’ needs to heal at multiple points of their experience: emotional, physical, social, and behavioral.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Sometimes I joke that my brain is flawed in that it minimizes risks and forgets the bad experiences. It is what allows me to jump full speed ahead into what I value and am passionate about, and to persist throughout the challenges. So, while it definitely has not been a smooth road getting here, and I know there will be more bumps along the way, when I see the positive impact my care and efforts can create, I am overwhelmed with gratitude.

We’ve been impressed with Resolutions Counseling Center, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Resolutions Counseling Center is an outpatient therapy center in Bountiful, Utah. Our providers have diverse backgrounds and areas of focus, allowing them to confidently and competently provide quality services to children, teens, adults, couples, and groups for a range of mental health concerns. As we work toward our vision of integrated wellness, we also strive to collaborate closely with physicians and other health care team members. We also have an in-house clinical nutritionist who helps target wellness through interventions for physical balance.

So, before we go, how can our readers or others connect or collaborate with you? How can they support you?
We LOVE working and collaborating with the community in any way that can maximize our clients’ wellness. We’re always looking to connect with others who can provide “therapy” outside of the traditional therapy platform to complement what clients need in their daily lives. For example, opportunities for nature and recreation experiences, physical activities, creative endeavors, and leadership and service are all important and relevant to our wellness. We encourage and try to support our clients accessing these outside supports in their efforts to heal and thrive. As part of our focus on increasing accessibility, we are especially drawn toward services that are free or low-cost.

Pricing:

  • We accept many insurance plans.
  • Without insurance, regular sessions are $150
