Today we’d like to introduce you to Hailey Meadow.
Hi Hailey, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I was living in Austin, Texas, working very hard to hold together a marriage that continued to reveal as being very out of alignment. Despite my best efforts of doing everything I knew how to do, the relationship was at a death cycle. There wasn’t, any room left to grow and I knew it was time for me to leave. It was Easter morning, while I was talking to my now, ex-husband when I felt a very clear message from my angels that it was time for me to go. I knew my guides were right, and I knew that if I didn’t listen, and I decided to stay, that mine and my family’s safety could be in jeopardy.
I didn’t know how things were going to unfold or how it was all going to work, but I packed my bags, gathered my three young children, got in the car, and headed for Utah. It was one of the hardest decisions I have ever made in my life. I had a couple of hundred dollars in my pocket when I arrived in Utah. Luckily, one of my very close friends had a little room in a building she owned in Lehi where she was allowing medical students to board while they completed their studies. She offered to allow me and my children to stay there in one room while I got back up on my feet. I was beyond grateful for the space.
Within a week of arriving, I felt incredibly guided to ask my friend if I could rent the entire building. At the time I had no money, no income, and really no way of knowing how I was going to afford to rent the entire building. I just felt like I needed to ask her. She actually said yes and planted this thought into my mind that the building I was in was a commercial-grade building and I could open a small retail space in the front room which could generate some income for me and my children. The thought was terrifying, but it stuck with me.
I ended up renting the entire space a few weeks later and I decided even if I was open a few hours a week. I could utilize the space to offer my wire-wrapped crystals to people. I also had a desire to offer loose crystals to people as well, but I had no idea what the process was to even do that. A little voice in my head encouraged me to call a friend I had in Florida who owned a crystal shop. She ended up giving me a couple of vendors I could reach out to, but I still had no money to purchase anything.
So here I was with three young children, no income, no financial support from their father, no idea how I’m going to put gas in my car, I don’t know how I’m going to get food, or even how I was going to pay rent on this building I just rented, but what I DID know is that I am motivated, driven, and willing to do whatever I needed to do in order to reach a goal.
I began working hard and putting my intention out into the Universe of what I wanted, seeing clearly this vision I had of creating this space for the community of Lehi, Utah. I wanted to create an environment, a space that anyone could walk into and feel loved, welcomed, and at peace. I choose to have faith that everything would unfold just as it needed to and kept working towards this goal.
Not long after researching the vendors my friend had given to me, I had another friend who called to check in on me and the kids. I shared with her my vision and she offered to send me some money to help me. I never asked her for money, nor did I tell her how much I needed to make my first wholesale crystal purchase, but I knew that there is a season for giving and there is a season for receiving. This was my season of receiving. She ended up sending me EXACTLY the amount I needed to make my first purchase.
From there, Meadow’s Crystals was born. At first, only the front room of the building was the shop, while my children and I lived in the back of the building. Slowly, as more and more people discovered this beautiful space, the shop began to grow. After about a year and a half, I was able to afford to rent an apartment for me and my children and we moved out of the crystal shop.
Today, three and half years later, Meadow’s Crystals is a space that still serves as a home for so many in the community, a space of love, a space of light, a space of compassion, and a space where all are welcome. I have poured so much love, light, energy, blood, sweat, and tears into this space, but I couldn’t have done it on my own. I’m so grateful to everyone who helped me get to where I am today, and I am so thankful to my guides and my angels who have led me every step of the way.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Absolutely not! Being an independent mother of three young children and starting a business was anything but easy. There were many times when I was absolutely exhausted from being up with a sick child all night but needed to open the shop and there was no one to do it but me! This was in the beginning when I didn’t have a team.
There were many times when I wasn’t sure I was going to be able to make rent and a customer would come in and purchase a wire wrapped necklace I had made, giving me exactly what I needed.
Anyone who starts a business is going to have many struggles. It’s all an uphill battle! But it’s through the challenges and the pain where real growth occurs.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Apart from selling the highest quality, and as many ethically sourced as I can find, crystals, I am known for my Crystal Wire Wrap Necklaces.
What makes my Crystal Wire Wraps so unique is I meditate with every single crystal prior to wrapping it. I will always tune into the energy of each crystal. I ask each crystal for permission to be wrapped and only when I feel the crystal is wanting to be wrapped will I then allow the energy of the crystal to guide me in how to wrap it.
No two wraps are ever the same and all are so unique and different, just like every crystal.
Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
