Conversations with Danielle Lloyd

Today we’d like to introduce you to Danielle Lloyd.

Hi Danielle, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself
Women today are busier than ever. We are mothers, breadwinners, role models, friends, mentors and so much more. I have been blessed to have so many strong women in my life and I believe I have them to thank for my passion and path toward a rewarding career in paramedical tattooing and permanent makeup.

Hi, my name is Danielle Lloyd. I am a mother, business owner, advanced permanent makeup, and paramedical tattoo artist here in Lindon, Utah.

The role that has defined and refined my life has been to be a wife and mother to my 4 talented, vibrant children. For 11 years, I had the privilege of staying home with my young children. As my children grew, so did my repertoire of skills, but I couldn’t help but feel my heart tugging for something I had largely neglected in the beautiful chaos of motherhood, artistic creativity.

I spent a few years silently searching for something that sparked that dormant artistic side but would also satisfy my growing need to reach outward and connect with others. The very moment a career in permanent makeup and the paramedical tattoo was suggested by a fellow artist, it was love at first thought!

Nearly 4 years later, having traveled the country in pursuit of nearly 20 professional certifications, I am passionate about bringing the restorative power of medical tattoo and permanent makeup to my clients. I feel truly grateful to have found a profession in which I can provide women with a meaningful, empowering return to self in the many different services I offer.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Of course not! It has been such a difficult road to navigate, and not without roadblocks. Lots. Of. Roadblocks. As an entrepreneur in the field of paramedical tattooing, there is really no roadmap, no survival guide.

I sort of fill the unseen space between the fields of body art and medical services, where just a few of us choose to roam, haha! Starting any business is stressful, sometimes lonely and often defeated, but I have always believed that if you aren’t willing to learn, no one can help you, but if you are determined to learn, no one can stop you.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Whether you’ve been dying for the perfect powder brow or in need of scar relief, I’ve got you covered! I offer a wide range of highly specialized permanent eyebrow, permanent eyeliner, lash enhancement and lip blushing services to accentuate your unique beauty. The freedom and confidence that comes when you wake up loving your features again are meaningful and priceless.

As much as I love doing permanent makeup (and I do!), my heart sings in paramedical tattooing. I have sought training from the nation’s top artists in the industry to bring the highest level of care and services here to Utah. Medical micro-pigmentation (tattooing) is an incredibly innovative way to treat scars as well as restore key features that may have been lost, such as the areolas and even belly buttons!

Scars are part of everyone’s story, but they can also be physically and emotionally painful reminders of events or conditions we would rather not be regularly reminded of. I offer inkless scar needling to treat the appearance, texture, pain, and loss of mobility due to scarring. When additional color is beneficial, I also offer scar camouflage tattooing, when the pigment is then implanted into the surface of the scar to allow it to blend in more seamlessly to the surrounding skin.

My absolute favorite service to offer, and what I consider to be the culmination of all my tattooing experience, is restorative areola tattooing. Whether restoring the color or shape of your areola following surgery or trauma or recreating a completely new nipple/areola complex with 3D nipple tattooing following mastectomy and breast reconstruction, this meaningful and beautiful return to self can bless lives.

I am so honored to be a small part of my patient’s healing journeys! Never in my life would I have thought that this is where my art would lead me, but what a blessing it has been.

So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
The thing that matters the most to me, is that after all is said and done, the people in my life who mean the most to me KNOW they mean the most to me. The people I choose to surround myself with taking on a completely new meaning to me when I remember what I went through to get them, and how important it is that they know that!?
