Today we’d like to introduce you to Tyler Heaps.
Hi Tyler, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I was born and raised in Utah County, I am married with 3 kids and we have a german shorthair pointer. I graduated from Utah Valley University in communications/public relations. It was during my time at Utah Valley that I discovered the world of marketing.
In my last year of college, I was offered an internship with Family Search as a digital marketing intern. Over my time there, I gained experience in digital marketing and mainly in SEO. I gained a passion for digital marketing and knew I had found my career path. Since my internship, I have managed marketing teams and departments for several leading companies in Utah, including Nature’s Sunshine, EKR, Blendtec, and Boostability.
Currently, I am the Head of Marketing for QuickFresh. QuickFresh is a new Utah start-up located in Springville, Utah. I have been fortunate enough to be part of this company from the very beginning. We offer healthy delicious meals that are fresh and fully prepared and delivered to our customers. We also offer health coaching to our subscribers where they will get personalized coaching from a certified health coach.
As the head of marketing, I lead the marketing and creative team at QuickFresh. In the short amount of time we have been delivering meals to our customers we have already opened up the West Coast to order from us and we will soon be delivering nationwide.
I am passionate about providing the best user experience at every touchpoint in our marketing and to our customers.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
The road has not been smooth. As in any career, there have been up and downs and bumps in the road. To outsiders, it may have seemed like it has been a smooth road but have had to really stretch me and grow into each role I have taken on.
For example, when I went to EKR I was tasked with creating the digital marketing product offering and the team from scratch. This was something I had never done before but I was up for the challenge. Thankfully in a matter of 2.5 years, I was able to take the digital marketing product revenue from 0 to over 1.5 million annually.
After EKR I moved to Nature’s Sunshine where I was the Marketing Communications Manager and oversaw all marketing communications for the North America region. This also included managing all the North American promotions and product launches. I was able to eliminate the number of promotions by 90% and we still increased revenue month over month by 7%. This resulted in the highest revenue quarter for North America in the companies history.
As with any career, there have been ups and downs with any organization which has resulted in me looking for a new opportunity. Fortunately, with each move, I made I was able to move into a role that helped me grow further and take on additional responsibility.
I am looking forward to seeing where we will go with QuickFresh and for helping others change their lives for the better by improving their health and wellness.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
As the head of marketing for QuickFresh, I oversee the marketing and creative team. I have spent the majority of my career in digital marketing focusing on SEO, paid search, and paid social. In my last 2 roles, I have overseen additional areas such as media buying (Billboards and Radio), marketing automation, product marketing, and go-to-market strategies. I know mainly focus my efforts on leading the marketing department and helping to develop the brand as well as conversion optimization.
I am the proudest of what we have accomplished in the short time I have been full-time working on QuickFresh. We have grown so quickly and have seen so many lives change from our product that it is so much fun to be a part of. I have also been able to grow so much as a marketer and leader during this process. I also look forward to the many additional things I will learn and see where things go from here with QuickFresh.
What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
I currently live in Saratoga Springs but I work in Springville. I have lived in Saratoga Springs for the last 10 years and have loved raising my kids there. Saratoga is such a great place to raise a family and it’s been fun to see how much it continues to grow. It’s also a great place because Lehi has also grown so much and there is so much opportunity around us.
Its been exciting to see how fast Saratoga has grown but that also comes with challenges as the city tries to expand the roads and additional infrastructure to support all the new residents.
