Today we’d like to introduce you to Randolph Sternberg.
Hi Randolph, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I started as a production assistant then worked on various projects as an actor, in the art department, worked in wardrobe, camera, grip & lighting, and then later transitioned into a spec screenwriter, did that for about ten years, but took some time off to raise my family, but was nearly going to quit, but kept feeling impressed to get back into.
So I enrolled in college to continue my Masters in film, when I wasn’t accepted, another door opened where I was able to make my first film (Pitching Love & Catching Faith) which launched my film career. Then five years later decided to write a sequel to that film (Romance in the Outfield: Double Play) which I produced, wrote, and co-directed a couple of years ago.
That opened another door to a much larger project in which I am involved in, Carbynarah Chronicles: The InSet, which we’re currently in pre-development.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
LOL, Not smooth at all, a lot of sacrifices, grit, and pure determination to get where I am at.
Getting projects funded is the biggest struggle, and trying to make a movie on a micro low-budget is a very hard task and struggle in and of itself. Getting people to believe in you, and work for you for little or no pay is always really hard.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’ve produced two feature films: Pitching Love & Catching Faith, and Romance in the Outfield: Double Play. I’ve produced around 30 shorts, commercials, and a few corporate videos. My specialty, I would say, is more in writing and producing. I know how to write and produce a film for a low-budget film.
I’d say what separates me from others is, not only my creative ability to do something with little or no money but my passion and purpose for why I make films. I’m not here for fame and riches or winning awards, but to make the world a better place.
“To enlighten, inspire, and entertain families and individuals worldwide.”
Any big plans?
To make films with larger budgets, more blockbuster caliber that touches a wider audience.
I am currently working on the Carbynarah Chronicle series. This I believe is where my mission begins where I bring forth my passion projects and films that influence and affect the world in a meaningful and insightful way.
