Inspiring Conversations with Wyatt Welch of Photo Camper

Today we’d like to introduce you to Wyatt Welch.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I started with Photo Camper last year after seeing this amazing ad for it online. I bought the trailer from an awesome couple who had renovated and transformed it into a photo booth. They just didn’t have the time for it anymore. I have always been someone who enjoys a good party, so it was a perfect fit for me! When I took over the camper, I wanted to make it my own. This included rebranding, going to a more neutral design, and adding a ton of fake plants! It truly is a blast to help clients celebrate, and enjoy their time with loved ones!

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
This is my first business! It has definitely been a learning curve for me. Everything from scheduling, marketing, design, invoices…etc. It was a lot! At first, I definitely questioned if I was capable enough, but eventually, the “Imposter Syndrome” went away!

As you know, we’re big fans of Photo Camper. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
One thing I like to make sure everyone knows about Photo Camper; We celebrate all the love! I’ve had a few clients reach out wanting to book the camper, and they had the question. “Are you okay with it being an LGBTQ+ Wedding/Event?” I think it’s sad that we’re still in a time where some vendors may turn down, or frown upon a chance to spread love. I think one of my favorite things about owning Photo Camper is being able to say: “Absolutely! We would love to celebrate with you!”

Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
I really hope that this business will grow and grow. As we dive more into the technological world, we sometimes lose these fun opportunities that connect one another. With Photo Camper, it helps bring these moments to life. There’s something so refreshing about seeing people being silly and letting go. Even if it’s only for 1-2 minutes. The outside world kinda becomes irrelevant. It’s a chance to leave the heavy behind, put on a goofy hat, and smile big with loved ones. Photo Camper provides not only an experience but also a physical copy of that memory as well. With the ability for 20 people in a photo at a time, everyone gets to take home a copy! There’s a huge difference between a photo on your phone, versus a photo print in your hand. It’s a treasure!
