Hi Lauren, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
For most of my life, I struggled to find a lip balm that worked for my extremely sensitive lips. I tried so many different products and brands of lip balm and found my dry lips getting worse and more uncomfortable rather than healthier with each application. I was frustrated that the more lip products I used, the more chapped and cracked my lips became. I wanted a clean, natural product that actually worked to moisturize my sensitive lips so I could enjoy my time focusing on other things (like my kids!) and feel confident in doing so.
This is when I had the idea to start creating my own lip balm using only pure, high-quality ingredients, that would do what they are designed to do: nourish and moisturize lips. Through much ingredient research and experimentation, I created a product that works really well for me, so I decided I had to start this company in order to share it with the world!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I originally launched XO Lips in 2018 and shortly after hit a pretty major roadblock in my personal life. I had to put this company (and my dream of helping others with it) on hold for a season but always knew that I was meant to do this. My husband, my three daughters, and I moved to Utah last year, and shortly thereafter I was ready to re-launch XO Lips! I would encourage you that if there’s a passion you have or a dream in your heart, even if it seems impossible right now, don’t give up on it even if you have to wait a little longer to dive in head first, it’s worth the wait because you have been given that desire for a bigger purpose.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?

Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
Know your “WHY”! When you have a specific purpose behind what you’re doing, then you can remember your reason for getting started in the first place and it will keep you moving forward when you come up against obstacles or overwhelm. Being an entrepreneur isn’t easy or everyone would be doing it, but be encouraged — you can do hard things and the reward of helping others is worth it.
