Rising Stars: Meet Yvonne Christensen and Nichole Speirs

Today we’d like to introduce you to Yvonne Christensen and Nichole Speirs. Their team shares their story with us below:

Founders Nichole Speirs and Yvonne Christensen have over 25 years of combined experience and merged recently after working on projects together for the past 6 years to create a full-service interior design firm servicing both southern and northern Utah.

“We specialize in full build full furnish. From plan design to room layout, to interior and exterior finishes, we take a home from paper to a functional space with every detail considered. With our unique mix of combined styles and creative process, our dedicated team is able to create innovative and original designs that reflect the homeowner’s taste, lifestyle, and personality. For our projects, listening to our clients is key in developing a space for them that is timeless, meaningful, and livable.

With our furnishings design, we strive to create a feeling of luxury that is also inviting and comfortable. We love to create custom pieces that will endure trends and mix them with trendy pieces. We add layers of texture in fabrics, art pieces, décor, and greenery to create a tailored finished home for our clients that does not feel overdone.”

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Our biggest challenge was hiring and training a team we trust. We are both very meticulous in our processes and expectations so it took us a minute to let go of some of that control and really start to let our team flourish. We have been very lucky to have developed such a talented group over the years and everyone brings such a valued perspective to the table and the end result has been spectacular.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Putting together the final touches of a home is a very creative process with every detail to be considered, we really believe scale of that first layer sets the tone of the home, and the finishing touches make the home. It’s not easy to style a home so it holds a certain feeling when you walk into it, it has to have the perfect amount of accessories, yet it has to feel livable and authentic.

What would you say has been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
We are still learning every day, growing every day, and striving to improve every day. We will never stop educating ourselves and trying to become better. It’s important never to become too comfortable in your field of art.
