Hi Jimmy, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start, maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers.
I started my business in January 2020. Shortly after Covid shut everything down, bad timing on my part hahaha. I started flying Hot Air Balloons in 2016 to start another career other than being a professional skydiver.
My business has been open for 3 years now, and we’ve flown thousands of people since opening.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Definitely not smooth; the pandemic almost bankrupted me. Quarantine time was extremely stressful with no end in sight.
Once everything slowly reopened it wasn’t bad at all. Learning to run a business has been challenging but extremely rewarding.

I do Hot Air Balloon tours over Moab, Utah. As far as I know one of the only places in the world where you can take off in a State Park and Fly over a National Park. Other than Hot Air Balloon tours, I’m teamed up with BASE Jump Moab. I’m one of a few people in the world you can go Tandem Base Jump. Between Andy and it’s the only place in the world you can fly in a Hot Air Balloon and go Tandem BASE Jump in the same day.
What do you think about luck?
I consider myself a lucky person in many ways. Opening my business wasn’t about luck but more hard work and not giving up.
