Meet Anne Sargent

Today we’d like to introduce you to Anne Sargent.

Hi Anne, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’ve always been a curious seeker. Maybe it’s the Aries in me but I enjoy learning about new things and sometimes those explorations become deep dives. From a young age, I’ve felt a profound connection to nature and the non-human world.

Now in my mid-50, I’ve gathered many life experiences including collegiate athlete, advertising/marketing agency owner, divorce, motherhood, Crossfit® Games Competitor, death of a parent, cancer, and many passions and hobbies.

Over the past decade, I’ve been drawn to travel, study and gain wisdom in ancient and indigenous mindfulness energy practices such as yoga, nature mediation, shamanism, tarot/divination, and Reiki. Soul Elements allows me to share these practices with others, allowing for safe and empowering energetic wellness to occur.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
The road has been far from smooth. Anything worth doing takes perseverance and trust. In my younger years, I was impatient and tried to control and push for outcomes I desired, oftentimes finding that even if I reached the desired goal the experience felt empty or fell short of expectations. Many times I showed up in jobs, with others with expectations of how I should act or even wear to fit in and be accepted.

I believe the hardships oftentimes are the gifts and my many life experiences have allowed me to be in the place I am today to hold space for others to do their inner work for I’ve experienced pain, loss, grief, frustration, abandonment, elation, and love. As a guide, holding space is important because it is the individual that does the “healing” – healing wounds of not being enough, not being seen, or fear of abandonment or being alone, even death, especially death – our own mortality, loss, and change.

Western Society and social media lead us to believe if we are not striving, seeking perfection, and doing more we are failing. Mindfulness is a way back to being. Thankfully these energetic practices that have been around for centuries are becoming more mainstream and “acceptable” or “encouraged.” Breathwork, yoga, forest bathing, and energy wellness are self-care practices that more people are seeking.

Since I “stepped onto the path of my truth” the struggles have all but vanished (I say that with sincerity)

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
It’s funny, even selecting a box felt limiting. My “work” is to be me. To show up, as me. When I am my authentic self, my clients can feel safe to be themselves. Through a lot of self-work, I’ve let go of ways of being and doing. My offering, Soul Elements is very much the same organic, authentic extension of me, a part of all. Just typing this my analytical former marketing mind says, “This is way out there!”

However, really it is right here in the present moment and that is what I am most proud of. I specialize in not specializing. I meet people where they are and we explore together what is holding them from living a life of freedom, abundance, hope, and gratitude. One session together can be transformative. I offer mindful energetic practices that utilize incorporate many modalities: Yoga, mediatization, breathwork, sound bath, Shamanism, Reiki, tarot, and intuitive guidance.

Day-to-day life can cause disease in our physical, mental, and energetic bodies. When we care for our energetic body we re-align and connect with our inner wisdom (our intuition) bringing more awareness to this moment and when there is awareness there is a choice, then the right action. The more I expand my knowledge, understanding, and trust in my existence and purpose the more others feel empowered to do the same.

Be themselves. There was a time when I was wrapped up tight in stories, expectations, and beliefs that held me in a confined place. There are people who would read this that in their mind keep me in this space, but I feel free to create and live in this moment as me and I see others as evolving, on their journey of discovery and I allow them to be themselves without judgment or attachment.

We’d love to hear what you think about risk-taking.
If we are not taking risks we are not growing, evolving, and experiencing all that life has to offer. Everyone has a different risk tolerance. As long as we are pushing the boundaries of our comfort zone we discover new emotions, and new passions, and yes sometimes we experience “failure.”

Failure teaches us where we hold fears, limiting beliefs, judgment, and attachments. What would life be like without fear of failure? Would you take more risks? Try new things, and expand your perspectives and beliefs. For me, healthy risk (non-life threatening) is the only way to truly feel alive and live in the present moment. Risk sharpens all our senses to the here and now. I am a risk taker.

I started a marketing business when I had the safety of full-time employment. I moved to Utah when my community of family and friends I knew was in Connecticut. I was passionate about CrossFit and decided to dedicate serious training to see how far I could go and it led me to the CrossFit Games. I think of risk-taking as the highest form of dreaming or intention setting then manifesting.
