Today we’d like to introduce you to Mindee Thompson.
Hi Mindee, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My son was born in 2018 with Severe Hemophilia – a disorder that causes his blood to not clot properly. I started connecting with other mothers going through the same thing.
This disease is very rare so finding people going through the same exact thing was difficult but many mothers have dealt with similar situations and having someone that they can connect with and talk with is huge. I wanted to be a listening ear for anyone that needed it.
I then began my IVF journey in 2019 (due to finding out I am a carrier of severe hemophilia and wanting to avoid passing it down to anymore of my children) and after one pregnancy loss, I conceived my youngest daughter Mila. I have since connected with many women going through IVF. At the beginning of 2022, I did another round of IVF and carried a beautiful baby boy until 10 weeks, when I lost him due to a subchorionic hematoma.
It was very tough and I have battled severe health anxiety and depression for about 4 months since. I want to help any women who can go through similar situations by sharing my story. It definitely isn’t always easy but it’s worth it.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I have definitely dealt with many struggles in my personal life and it makes it hard to keep sharing my story but sharing during the most difficult times is what helps others.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I started and owned a business called Airabella Active for 5 years and loved it so much but after losing my mom in 2018 I chose to take a step back and ended up starting a blog and my Instagram.
What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
Life is tough and unfair at times but so many people are there to support you and being there for others is SO IMPORTANT.
