Hi Brent, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
Legacy Home Projects is a business inspired by my grandfather, who was a master carpenter. I spent many hours in his shop and by his side, working on projects together.
I learned the value of hard work from him. I learned how to take pride in my work from him. I developed a love of a job well done and that’s what I bring to my work every day.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Not entirely. There have been aspects that have been smooth but definitely some challenges.
I think the biggest struggle is just getting my name out there. I am still a very new company and getting reviews and my name out there has been tough.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I love doing custom work inside the home. Creating unique pieces that my customers love.
That can be anything from accent walls, built-ins, locker room units, and anything they can come up with. I am most proud of my quality of work. I am not one to admit some mistakes but to go and fix those mistakes.
My personality definitely sets me apart from others. I am very much so a people person. I get along with everyone I meet and am able to deliver on my customer’s requests.
Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
Have a good plan in place that lines out the steps you take to set up your business. For me, it was getting a business mentor to help me line out my steps.
Pricing:
- Handyman work starts at $250 for 2 hours then goes to $85/hr. after that.
- Custom work is prescriptive to the work needed to be done.
