Today we’d like to introduce you to Alicia Toscano.
Hi Alicia, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Well, my story has been a bit bumpy and full of ups and downs along the way. I am originally from Utah and have lived in many cities here. I got my first job at Iceberg in Murray! From there I eventually graduated high school after becoming a teen mom and made it to college. I found pretty quickly, that although I love to learn, that working a 9-5 takes up your whole life.
For years I worked in office administration and then decided I wanted to put all my hard work and time into a business for myself. I quit my job and got my real estate license and then thought things would all fall into place. Honestly, they did but not as I had planned. I began working at a non-profit, The Pregnancy Resource Center of Salt Lake City, and real estate faded into the background.
Four years later, here I am, starting real estate again. I felt like my time had ended there, but still am involved in volunteering. I’m now pursuing real estate full-time and love helping people find happiness in their real estate journey.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Not at all, but worth all that I have learned along the way to be who I am today. I feel that struggles are a part of the learning and growing process and in order to really know what you want and be able to connect and help others, you may need to go through some things to get there. I certainly don’t have it all figured out, but learning through experience is part of the process.
I have days I want to give up and just go find a 9-5 job that will have consistent pay and then I look back at all that I have been through, fought for, and what I want for my future and for my family. Hard work does pay off and I believe showing up and giving it your all is half the battle.
We’ve been impressed with Alicia Toscano, Signature Real Estate, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am a Realtor with Signature Real Estate in Utah. The difference between a Realtor® and a Real Estate Agent is the training and education. I am part of the National Association of Realtors (NAR) and adhere to their code of ethics. This code of ethics requires that as a Realtor, I will put my client’s interests above my own, essentially, my clients come first. I continue to grow my skills in all things real estate and maintain the required education and certification to be licensed as an agent.
I specialize in helping buyers or sellers with their real estate needs, from wanting to sell their current homes to helping them find their dream home! I also can help someone who just wants to get an idea of the value of their current home. I love people honestly, and this makes my job easy. I am not here to get my paycheck and move on to the next client, I am here to really listen and provide my time and knowledge to my clients at 110%. My goal is to help make the home buying or selling process as smooth and comfortable as possible. The last thing people need is someone just looking out for themselves, what they need is really someone at the end of the day that cares.
So maybe we end by discussing what matters most to you and why.
What matters most to me is the people are comfortable with their decision to get what they really want out of the real estate and that I can provide the support to get them there. Real estate is expensive and the decision to buy or sell a home is a very big deal. Coming alongside my clients and walking them through each and every step is crucial. They are trusting you a lot and you need to show up and respect the journey.
