Daily Inspiration: Meet Kalli Bredsguard

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kalli Bredsguard.

Hi Kalli, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
Hello! My name is Kalli Ann Bredsguard, and I was born on January 18th, 2001 in Salt Lake City, Utah. I have lived in Davis County for the majority of my life, moving to Farmington, Utah when I was 3 years old. I was born and raised by a mother and father being number three out of four children. I have an older brother/sister and a younger sister. I was raised LDS but once I moved away to college I stopped practicing the religion.

Growing up we were a very tight-knit family and we still are. Our family has gone through some incredibly difficult times and it has bonded us together like none other. I would say one of the main pivot points in my life was when my childhood best friend who suffered from Type 1 Diabetes unexpectedly passed away when I was in 9th grade. A year later my aunt whom I was very close to was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic breast cancer. At the time I was competing for my high school’s track team and was very competitive/active which led me to qualify for state and compete in the 4×1 relay race. About a year and a half after my aunt’s diagnosis, she passed away and I immediately quit track and stopped competing.

About a month after my aunt’s passing my dad was in a paragliding accident, falling between 150-200 feet, and survived with injuries to his pelvis, back, and head. It was truly a miracle that he survived. I graduated from Viewmont High School in 2019 and am currently attending Utah State University with plans to graduate in May of 2023 with a degree in Integrated Studies with an emphasis in Art & Humanities. After high school I fell into a really dark place in my life, I had completely stopped exercising and wasn’t fueling my body properly leading to weight gain. But between my sophomore and junior year of college, my sweet mommy was diagnosed with colon cancer. She has put up on the helluva fight and after a year and a half of treatments, she is officially cancer free.

Once my mom was diagnosed with cancer I realized how important it was for me to start taking care of my body. I fell in love with going back to the gym and it is something I am very passionate about. I have officially lost over 55 pounds and have since begun my social media account @kallibfit on Instagram as well as TikTok posting my life journey. I have some exciting goals for the future and can’t wait to see where this next year takes me!!!

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am currently a full-time student with plans to graduate in May of 2023. Within this last year, I began a social media account on Instagram and TikTok showing my fitness and life journey that I have been on.

Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
My husband deserves so much credit! We met during our sophomore year of high school and have been inseparable since. He is my ride-or-die and has pushed me to be the best version of myself. He motivates me every single day to get up out of bed and get things done. My mom- has helped me more than she will ever know, her zest for life is so contagious and I want to be just like her when I grow up. My family- they push me to limits I never knew I could reach and want the absolute best for me. They are always so supportive and have been there for me in the roughest patches of my life.
