Today we’d like to introduce you to Colt Amidan.
Hi Colt, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers.
I grew up in Ogden Utah playing sports as a child. Once I was done with sports I was lost and did not know what to do with my life. I ended up at Weber State University and received a Bachelor of Science in Professional Sales. Also at that time I got my real estate license and found an amazing mentor in commercial real estate.
From 2002 – 2006 I worked alongside one of the top commercial brokers handling sales and leasing. During that time we handled sales of Office and Industrial Parks, retail buildings, apartments, hospitals, and hotels. In 2007 I was recruited to create a real estate team in Las Vegas. I was the team leader of the top selling and listing team in all of the Coldwell Bankers in Nevada from 2007 – 2015.
Our team handled multiple banks’ assets and corporate accounts. I was invited to multiple sit-downs with the government in Washington D.C. to discuss the real estate crisis of 2007/2008. In 2015 I help create the commercial division for the largest luxury firm in Nevada and I am the managing director of Simply Vegas Commercial.
In 2020 I decided it was time to get back to where it all started. I created a real estate group in Northern Utah with people throughout the whole state. We specialize in Commercial and Residential real estate.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
There have been many struggles along the way. I think from 2002 to now the market has shifted so many times and in such large ways. I made one of my biggest moves right when we hit the market crash of 2007. It was a big blow to me, and I thought I was going to lose it all. Luckily we adapted really quickly and were able to do well during that time.
As you know, we’re big fans of Amidan Group Commercial Real Estate. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
We are a group that specializes in commercial real estate. Currently, we are tied with Simply Vegas in Las Vegas and Refined Real Estate based out of Ogden. We handle both sales and leasing throughout the whole state. We have been in business for 20 years. We represent everyone from small businesses to Fortune 500 companies and deals ranging from $300k to over $20 million.
Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
We do a lot with the homeless population. We donate a percentage of our deals to feed the homeless. We feel we are blessed to be in our situation and hope to help others out. I also own 702 Roofing in Las Vegas, NV
