Today we’d like to introduce you to Haley Huynh.
Hi Haley, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I started out as a boba lover, I would travel to different places and try out boba drinks. After trying many different places, I realized that I wanted to open one of my own boba tea shops after realizing I wanted to be my boss. I, then, started to research training classes and suppliers while looking for a leasing unit.
After more than a year, I finally found a location that I’ve always wanted in Pinellas Park, Florida. It was a long period of waiting, training, and research but it was very rewarding to see our customer’s happy faces.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
No, it has not been a smooth road at all. Being a young entrepreneur in the business world while building my first store from scratch, I’ve been through many struggles that many people don’t realize. Setting up a legal business was an easier step thanks to my business background.
However, one of the first steps of building a business from scratch such as hiring engineer, contractor, hiring employees were extremely difficult for a young entrepreneur like me. I had to use all my connections to find reliable companies and trustable people to work with. However, thanks to my boyfriend, family, and friends’ support, the store is growing every day.

SIP TEA BOBA is a tea store specializing in making the best quality drinks and desserts. We’re proud to say we only use the finest ingredients in the things we served while continuously researching to bring the best trendy and luscious drinks to serve our customers.
We always strive to provide the best environment for our customers to study, relax, to enjoy a nice drink with their loved ones after an exhausting day. We offer free gifts during special times of the year and our customers can keep up with our store through various social media platforms.
Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
One piece of advice I have for those who are starting out is to put whatever ideas you’re thinking of into action. One of my favorite quotes from John C. Maxwell is “dreams don’t work unless you do”. I live by this quote because there are many people who wanted better things, but they do not work toward that goal so, in the end, they’re only wishing to live that lifestyle.
And one thing I wish I knew before starting a new business is that there will be unexpected circumstances even if you work with the most knowledgeable individuals; therefore, be prepared financially and mentally.
