Today we’d like to introduce you to Samantha Dowdle.
Hi Samantha, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I received my bachelor’s degree from the University of Utah in Modern Dance and I taught dance for many years. I loved my time teaching, but when I found myself divorced with two children, it was time for me to seek out a career I could support my children with. When I began building my life back up, I wanted to find a career that made me happy. I wanted to help people feel good about themselves, because, at the time, I, myself was in a very dark place. I figured if I can help others, maybe I could find joy in their happiness. I began researching careers that I may be interested in. Weeks later, I met a single mother that was doing aesthetics inside her home, she told me she made plenty of money to support her two children. I immediately scheduled a tour at The National Institute of Medical Aesthetics. I instantly fell in love the moment I walked into the spa, and found myself enrolled the following week. Throughout the program I have learned so much, I enjoy the services I provide, and find them very fulfilling. While at NIMA I discovered myself growing as a person, growing through my studies, and the people I met at NIMA have changed my life. My passion for skincare, beauty, and permanent makeup has only blossomed. I have truly found my calling. The name of my company is Nelvy Aesthetics, named after my two daughters Nellie and Ivy. I did all of this for them, so it only seemed right to name my spa after the two most important people in my life. I am currently building a spa, it will be opening this coming Fall. I will be offering my permanent cosmetics, beauty services, skincare, and product. I am thrilled that my sister Paulina, a cosmetologist, will also be doing my hair at my Spa. For the time being, I am currently working at Couture Brows doing Microblading, Lip Blushing, Brow Laminations, lash lifts and tints, and teeth whitening. I love working with the people at Couture brows, Sandi and Morgan have been so welcoming, I feel so lucky to have such a supportive team, Not only professionally, I also have support from my friends and family. I couldn’t have made it this far without the encouragement, and love from the people I hold closest to my heart.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
I would love to say the road has been smooth, but it has been a lot of work. Throughout all the obstacles I have only grown, and feel I am working towards a great future.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
My work consists of customizing treatments to an individual, and focusing on what makes them unique. Whether it is skincare, or permanent makeup. I talk to my clients about their goals, I as their Esthetician it is my responsibility to create a custom plan that will be, realistic, and effective. I think what makes me unique is that I want to enhance people’s natural beauty. I want my clients to look at their brows, lips, or skin and feel that they look the way they feel, or want to feel. Sometimes people need help clearing up their skin or adding a bit of boldness to themselves to kickstart a new YOU, or the AUTHENTIC YOU. That’s what Nelvy is, it’s authentic, it is ok to walk in and and just say, “I don’t even know where to start”, it is also ok to walk in and know EXACTLY what you want. I will make goals with my clients, and we will work together, as a team to reach them. So what do I specialize in? The answer is YOU.

Showing support for Nelvy, would be to book an appointment and share your experiences with your friends and family. Having the opportunity to get to know clients’ skin and personally, I will be able to create better more effective treatments. So really, in the end, we are supporting each other. I would be thrilled to collaborate with other companies to promote happy and healthy living, mentally and physically. Aesthetics plays a role in this. Influencers and companies that share the same principles of personal growth are the types of people want to work with.
