Meet Crystal Cruz

Today we’d like to introduce you to Crystal Cruz.

Crystal, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I fell In love with makeup at a very young age. In 6th grade, I had my first (LOOK) white eyeshadow and concealer lips (nude lips) it was absolutely dreadful 😂 When I wasn’t painting my face like a raccoon I was watching YouTube makeup tutorials way before James Charles times. At 20 years old I attended Paul Mitchell The School, I honored in Makeup In 2017 completing 2 years of training. I started out as a mobile Makeup Artist here in Ogden, 2 years later I wanted to expand into the Permanent Makeup Industry because it was so similar to applying makeup but permanently. Once I received my certificates and Body Art Permit. I was ready to open my first Suite offering Makeup, LipBlushing, powder Ombre Brow, Microblading, Brow Laminations and Tattoos, I was able to experience having my own space and I loved it but something was missing, I enjoyed being around other creatives who shared the same vision as me. That’s when I knew it’s time for my First Store Front! I have a brand I have my team but people think I’m still crazy in following my dreams, I invested ALL my coins into this place because I had a vision for it! ALL PINK! Life’s all about taking risks. Some may not understand me but I will not sit and wonder what if . Being a Business owner is not all fun and games so much responsibility comes with it and I’m learning every day. I now have an Amazing team of Makeup Artists and Permanent Makeup Artists and Nail Techs that are like sisters. Our Mission is to have everyone walk out our door feeling their very best.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has not I’ve had many obstacles. At first, I didn’t know I need certain licenses to even tattoo/or permanent makeup. And I was confronted by the heart department and that wasn’t fun.

Now when I’m training others, I always let them know to check their districts rules and regulations. I also jumped into a super small super expensive studio without doing much research and that’s what led me to opening a bigger space for not much more. So always look into your options

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’ve been a Professional MUA for 6 years And Pmu /Permanent Makeup Artist For 1.5 years. I’m mostly known for my extreme makeup transformations. What sets us apart from others is our environment and customer service! It’s top-tier.
