Today we’d like to introduce you to Cassidy Crandell.
Hi Cassidy, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start, maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Cassy’s Book Club was created just a few months ago in April of 2022! I had spent the last year juggling friendships, work-life balance, and other responsibilities as I entered my 20s. I quickly realized how hard it was to meet up with friends when life got busy. I started my book club as a way to rekindle old friendships and meet new ones! Connection is something that I truly value, and I wanted to give others a chance to do just that. My first meeting was me and a few friends all sitting in my living room. That feeling of seeing old friends join together was so perfect. I knew that there were more of us out there in need of connection. Since then, I can say that I have over 200 bookish friends who are the most amazing people I’ve ever met. Whether you are an avid reader or have a goal to read more often, this is the perfect place to find new connections and a whole lot of book recommendations!
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It’s definitely a challenge to come up with fun and exciting book club meetings every month! I do take a lot of inspiration from the themes of the books we read, and all the book club members are so helpful to come up with ideas or lend a hand! Since Cassy’s Book Club is a place to meet friends, it takes a lot of courage to come alone or to be surrounded by girls you don’t know. I am always trying to find ways to make coming to my events as inviting as possible to ease those anxieties. The women in my book club are so kind and accepting, it is just that first step of joining us that seems to be the hardest. Of course there’s also those reading slumps that will get you (thank you audio books)!
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar, what can you tell them about what you do?
An aspect of my book club that I feel sets me apart from others are my events! I have always had a deep love for hosting and event planning. Themed parties are my absolute favorite and I love the process of watching my vision come to life! Books easily spark that creativity in me and help me find ways to incorporate the theme of the book to each of my events.

Cassy’s Book Club is a community with so many incredible women. It is very special to me to have created a safe space for young women to rant about our favorite books and create memories together! I am so grateful for the positive energy and support I’ve received in starting my book club.
