Conversations with Michael Creger

Today we’d like to introduce you to Michael Creger.

Hi Michael, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I was working as a retail sales manager for a large wireless company, my girlfriend at the time, who is now my wife, was working in mortgages, suggested I get into real estate as an agent and she could do the loan side of the business. A nice little team. I had already thought about being an agent when I was younger, but didn’t know where to start. I decided I liked her idea, and worked to get my license while working 60 hours a week. Shortly after, I finished my license she left the mortgage business and I found myself on my own in the business. Thankfully the relationships I had grown in my management world translated over to real estate. I feel very fortunate to have had those relationships in my corner.

We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has not been a smooth road. It has been a great ride but not without its challenges. I had a deal, that I was working on for my former boss in the retail world. We got all the way to the closing date, and the buyer of his home, backed out the day he was supposed to buy it, which meant he was not able to fulfill the purchase of his new home. Which was part of a 7-layer chain reaction, affection several families in a negative manner. I was ready to go back to management and call it a day in real estate. Thankfully we were able to salvage the deal, and get it closed.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a real estate agent. I help people achieve the dream of home ownership, which is a responsibility I don’t take lightly. Rather that be my client’s first home, or their 10th home. Each situation presents different challenges and hurdles to overcome. I specialize in the ability to work through any situation, or issue that may arise with each client and the ability to problem solve and find solutions for my clients. I am most proud, of the amount of repeat and referral business that I am able to work with. It is a direct reflection of the work that I’ve able to do with previous clients. I truly and deeply care about every client’s transaction as if it’s my own.

What were you like growing up?
I was a total sports nut. I couldn’t watch or play enough of them. We would go from football, to baseball, soccer to basketball. Like a lot of kids, I had dreams of going pro at any one of those sports, unfortunately for me, there aren’t a lot of 5’10’ moderately athletic pro athletes in running around. I was also very social and enjoyed a diverse set of friend groups, and loved being around friends and family, which I still enjoy as an adult.
