Hi Lindsy, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
The story is one of courage. I was working a secure job with a retirement plan and had everything a person may think they need to survive. However, in my heart, I was unsatisfied and wanted something more. I wanted to do something with a purpose, something that could help heal people. One day, I decided to leave my job, and my home and move to the mountains with no plans of what would happen, or where I would end up. I ended up in Victor Idaho, waitressing, and working two full-time jobs while dreaming up Targhee Botanicals and giving everything I had to make this a successful company. I attended every local market I could. I am thrilled to say, after two years of very long work days, I was able to retire from working for other people and now just work for Targhee Botanicals full time and I am so happy that I get to help people’s skin heal! That move to the mountains was the best decision I have ever made!
Personally, this product changed my life. I couldn’t leave my house without makeup because I was always self-conscious about my skin. I had blemishes, redness, eczema, acne and large pores. I always wore foundation and powder to hide the imperfections. I would say the road to this current destination was as rocky as one would expect, going up to a deeply hidden, but much-desired trailhead with tons of potholes and huge stones. Often, the most beautiful views require the most intense journey and hike to be able to see from that vantage point. Being an entrepreneur, we are faced with ourselves, and often times our own limitations are what hold us back. I’ve had to retrain my brain to think bigger than my own limitations. It’s taken a lot of reflection and honesty to be able to take this company to the next level. I would say in summary, don’t limit your imagination. Sometimes our dreams don’t have a clear path, but if we keep dreaming and believing, a path appears.

If you are an aspiring entrepreneur and dream of working for yourself, I would say keep your inner circle small, but your community large. Don’t take advice from people that you don’t want to be like. The biggest challenge as an entrepreneur is to believe your dreams are possible. Most people will fight for you to believe that they aren’t possible, and to just settle and be happy. These are the same voices in your head that you already have to fight daily. It is important to have your inner circle be made of people who inspire you, and show you that anything is possible, or at least remind you that you can do it! I’d say, engage in the community, meet people, meet small business owners and surround yourself with people who have more experience than you. Listen to these people intently and learn every day how you can grow. I would say that not everyone needs to know, or hear about your bigger vision, hold it close because actions speak louder than words, and it’s better to show the nay-sayers what is done, than to tell them an idea and be brought down. The more that you put into something, and the more that you give, the more that you will get back. Do whatever it takes to believe in your vision, and then do whatever it takes to make it happen, and yes, it’s bound to happen.
