Conversations with Manuella Moreira

Today we’d like to introduce you to Manuella Moreira.

Manuella, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I was born in Brazil and grew up surrounded by rich culture, beautiful architecture and amazing textiles. This inspired me to want to do something creative. I started working for an interior designer after high school and immediately fell in love with the industry. I enrolled at the New York School of Interior Design, completed my studies, and continued to grow and move up in my career. In 2018, I decided to start my own business to gain more creative freedom and expand. Since then, my firm has completed projects in New York, Miami, Connecticut, Austin, and Los Angeles. Our work has been in The New York Times, Architectural Digest, Forbes, and HGTV.

We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has not been a smooth road. Despite having completed beautiful projects with other firms, I had to start my business from scratch and build a portfolio of my own. This was a challenge at the start since clients typically ask to see examples of your work. My main focus was to gain my clients’ trust and build from there. Fast forward 4 years later, my business has not only survived going through a pandemic, but we are thriving – mainly just by referrals.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Manuella Moreira Interiors is an award-winning design firm that specializes in creating interiors with impact. We deliver a client-focused experience that prioritizes stellar communication, deep functionality over surface beauty, and— yes, just the right amount of creative collaboration. We are proud of the spaces we create and seeing how they change how people live.

What matters most to you? Why?
The experience we create for the client from the beginning to end is most important to us. I’m a firm believer that the experience throughout the project has a lot to do with how they feel towards the outcome. Our goal is that the spaces we design truly reflect our clients’ personalities, tastes, and lifestyles.
