Today we’d like to introduce you to Preston Olson.
Hi Preston, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Born in 1992 in Kankakee, Illinois. Raised in Bourbonnais, Illinois. Starting with a tape recorder when I was a kid joking around with my friends on the recordings. Now running two podcasts, “Smoke After Dark” and “Prestons Super Show. Last year I was able to fulfill my dream of publishing my debut novella “Badge in the Shadows” that I worked on for four years. Shortly after I released a Halloween Short Story titled “Three Down.” Started my own website back in 2017 and still operating it today with over 200+ subscribers. Producing music in the neighborhood, mastering my sound, and as of today I have three mixtapes!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Everyday struggle. Nothing was easy and nothing was handed to me. Everything I have and own I earned. I went from rock bottom to having success and then right back to rock bottom. Sometimes the circumstances around you hurt you more than the situations you create. Whatever the case may be, I am committed to cementing a legacy. Learning not to become discouraged when friends don’t support your work is crucial. Outsiders will bring them to you.

Author, music producer, artist, and digital content creator. I am most proud of my debut novella “Badge in the Shadows.” What sets me apart is my competitive nature.
What are your plans for the future?
My plans are to keep coming out with music and release the next novella in my Mystery Saga. The big change you will see from me is the elevation of my skill set and the production value continue to rise on my work.
